Problems trying to upgrade online?
The last few days I've attempted to look at buy-up and mileage options for upgrades for some upcoming trips. Each time I try to look I get bounced back to a reservation screen that looks to be an older version of the website. I've not been able to get through to the upgrade screen despite the fact that the reservation page as it originally looks is offering me the option. Anyone having similar issues?

I upgraded a flight earlier today using miles. It is true it bounces you back to an older screen but it still worked. Ive done this many times previously so am familiar. Id advise to go back and make sure you check every little box and radio button as required. Its not totally intuitive.

For the past several months, I've had little success applying GPUs myself. I always book flights with R (now PZ) > 0 and as soon as the ticket is issued I go back and click on the "Upgrade" button. Then I'd choose a GPU and apply it. This stopped working some time in the last quarter of 2018, and still doesn't work via the web site. I can select the GPU, but once I hit the "purchase" button the transaction aborts and nothing happens.
When I called in to apply the GPU, the agent confided that she has been getting a lot of calls for this recently. Has anybody been able to apply GPUs themselves via the web site?
Also when there is waitlisted connecting space (as there usually is in my experience with connecting to TATL or TPAC flights) these now show up with a mix of waitlist and upgrade requested indicators on the same PNR. One in each direction. I haven't actually flown any of these itineraries, so I don't know how much more (un)likely the connecting upgrades will be in these different pending modes.

I have a trip to TPE this month which I was able to apply the GPU online. I do the same and try to find the routing where there is some R now PZ space. Has always worked via the web. Am using Firefox as my browser

i have noticed that none of my "upgrade requested" flights (using instruments) are showing in tabbed format like they usually do.
by "tabs," i mean the way the site normally duplicates the flight for display purposes and shows that it is waiting to be upgraded... it's displayed like file tabs within the reservation. that no longer appears for me, although the segments are still hown as "upgrade requested."

I upgraded (online) two January flights yesterday using expiring GPUs. Website showed options for paid upgrades, mileage upgrades, or instrument upgrades. But I had an issue online about two weeks ago and had to call in.

Not sure if it is related but 2 days ago I tried doing a paid upgrade on a single flight to F "for old times' sake." When I finally finished the mental debate as to whether or not that's how I wanted to blow $600, I hit the 'Buy Upgrade' button and was sent directly to a page that said 'Access Denied.'
Guess I didn't need that after all.

It's just plain broken. For the past several days the buyup link ("Confirm yourself in First for $xxx") was going into an endless redirect loop, but the upgrade link worked intermittently. Today it's just broken and takes you to a "View current reservation" screen from the old website - no upgrade option available. Whoever gave the approval for the new website to go live before it was ready should be relieved of his/her job...
