Are the mobile lounges still being used at Dulles? Seems like they could reduce walking vs. the train, depending on the gate/lounge combination, but they haven't been in use my last few times through IAD.

It depends on your gates (such as a fair distance to the c gates from the moon buggies

thanks guys. my mom made the trek to the turkish lounge from c gates and it took her about 30 mins. she said it was insanely crowded but got better. she enjoyed it much more than the UA lounges

I certainly think the trek is worth it for a long layover. Incidentally, the United app has a very detailed map of IAD which even allows you to look up turn-by-turn directions for getting from one gate to another by walking, train or moon buggy. Very cool.

I never knew of that functionality, I’m gonna look for that on my next trip. Any specific area on the app to look at besides airport maps

Go to the IAD map and tap “directions “ in the lower left corner, the type in your gates.
