This is true but the closet is actually pretty small, certainly not carry on size. I just monopolized 2K 's bin space. Actually I asked the guy in 2K first and he said it was fine as he had checked a bag.

But the closet was definitely big enough for a personal item, I used it for my backpack.

Eesh - I've mentioned it previously but I'm wondering if my ICN-SFO on Oct 19 will stay 747 or not...

Good luck, hopefully it does. I'm hoping for the (very unlikely) domestic farewell tour.

Well the replacement would be a 787-9 so I wouldn't be complaining too much, but I have a seat on the UD and I wanted a photo with the pilots....

Just booked my final 744 trips SFO-FRA 8/9 and LHR-SFO 8/16. It's a bit crazy but I'm actually flying all the way to SFO and back for this.
I'll be crossing my fingers there won't be an equipment change. Also, couldn't get an upper deck window seat for the outbound but I'll be checking often for an opening or equipment change.

It looks like I will only have 4 744 flights left with the change of SFO-PEK services to 77W in September . Originally I had 6 flights in September and October that were earmarked for the 744s. I have scheduled SFO-LHR later this month as my final 744 flight to Europe. My very last 744 flight will be end of August on SFO-PEK.

I wouldn't call that unlikely at all... I understand there's a celebration committee meeting this week... and they've been very responsive to some ideas that have been floated.

I don't want to get much more detailed than that, but if they accept the proposal I've seen, it would be absolutely epic.

Eesh, you have been on the 77W yes? I think I read you didn't like it as much, PEK also has a 789 flight as well, or was that PVG? Can't remember. Anyway, cheers! Hope you get a couple of those trips in First as well ^ ^

Just curious, how do you know about the celebration committee? And what is the general idea of what they want to do? I know you said you don't want to give more details but... Maybe if I ask nicely

A group I belong to had an idea, made some contacts at United and were told that there's a committee meeting happening this week and our proposal would be one of the items discussed. No guarantees of course but at least they're listening!

Guessing not likely, but from the historical side, a repeat of "Friendship One" would be cool:
