Regarding 787s, I don't recall any long-haul 787 services out of IAD (someone correct me here)
No 787s out of IAD & ORD.

There are plenty of 767s to go around in EWR, but since it is not yet a 787 pilot domicile, the airplanes and flight crews are probably coming on a six-day rotation from IAH, e.g. day 1 IAH-LHR, day 2 layover, day 3 LHR-EWR, layover, day 4 EWR-LHR, day 5 layover, day 6 LHR-IAH.

The three-cabin F birds are primarily there to drive full-fare J traffic, which GS/1K can upgrade with a SWU, and because those airplanes are in a rather premium-heavy configuration. So, TXL makes more sense because it is more business-oriented. OTOH, in a market like LIS, the higher density of the 2-cabin 763ER is necessary.
Correct pilots will be IAH based, while FAs will be NTA based for EWR - LHR - EWR & HTA based for IAH - LHR - IAH.

Actually, TXL is far from a business-oriented market..it has always been (and continues to be) extremely tourist/ leisure-heavy. I have no idea why they are putting a 3-class sUA 763 on the route...

Comparatively, I suspect TXL is more premium-heavy than LIS, for example. Certainly not so when viewed against FRA, LHR, GVA, etc.

Sorry I'm a bit amateur here : what does NTA and HTA based mean , NYC and Houston ?

NTA - Newark Transatlantic (FA base for international FAs) based in Newark
HTA - Houston Transatlantic (FA base for international FAs) based in Houston

EWR-TXL/LIS/BCN upgagued to widebody a/c (most likely 763)

certainly been a long time coming for LIS/BCN/TXL to have a scheduled widebody.
Other changes includes 787-9 flying HNL NRT for 6-week period.

IAH LHR with 787 has been flip-flopping between 1 and 2 daily frequencies.
