Mmmmmm not exactly, have to look at the UG policies holistically:
AA - free CPU for EXP, Plat/Gold can use stickers (and mileage always an option, with the low co-pay as noted)
DL - free CPU for Diamonds/Plats
UA - NO CPU for any tier; mileage upgrades now have expensive co-pays

I think it depends on where you sit on the totem pole, but that's always the case.

Just did 1E/F both directions on ps - red-eye outbound, afternoon departure on the return. While the larger footwells are great, I'm rethinking these as the best seats in the cabin.
Unfortunately, the sUA FAs on both our flights seemed to have adopted the habit of congregating in the forward galley to chat following meal service. So we were forced to listen to FA chatter for about three or four hours in each direction. This was not exactly conducive to sleep on the red-eye. (It also resulted in some less than stellar post-meal service on the return. Not only were drinks not replenished following conclusion of the meal service, but the empty glasses were left sitting on our table for several hours.)
Think I will go with row 3 or 4 for the next flight, despite the smaller footwells.

Possibly 5E/F, per JVPhoto. Although I've actually really liked row 4 in the past, so long as you don't need the footwell space to sleep.
