Sometimes if you have an extra guest and you don’t mind asking, perhaps a solo traveler checking in at the lounge desk would be amenable in admitting your companion

That no longer works as the "guester" and "guestee" must be on the same flight.

Or should you say it may work if you’re asking t
a person that happens to be on your flight

And how to you find that out and then they just happen to be in line at the same time as you?? With mulitple carriers / flights around the same time this does not seem to be a reliable approach anymore.

United CDG Club

Hi all,
Are all United/Star Alliance clubs open at CDG? Arriving early for checkin on June 15 for CDG-SFO. Website says Star Alliance club “temp closed”- no answer at United phone.
Suggestions?

When I was there a few weeks ago, only the Air Canada club was open. Small club but not over packed. Was maybe 5-10 minute walk from the United gate for Newark.

There’s no United Club at CDG. Calling a reservation/phone agent at United about a lounge in Paris promises to be a waste of time.

This looks up to date and is easy to use:

Thank you for confirming. Issue: CDG website still says their Star Alliance lounge is closed for covid-and that masks are required everywhere (airport). But in a tiny post buried at the end-it notes masks are no longer required at CDG (as per the 5/16/22 policy).
Hoping the closed lounge note is as outdated as the mask rule. Paris hotel thinks its open.
Anybody been through CDG Star Alliance Lounge since France lifted the mask rule? If yes-is it still in T1 and will I have to repeat passport/security before boarding in T 2A?
Otherwise I am stuck on one of those metal benches for 2 hours. (Air Canada ok but they dont open til 7:30 am).
FTO seems the only source for authentic info!!!
Many thanks.

General policy for UA
Check-in counters will be open three (3) hours prior to earliest UA departure from that airport, if there is a locng break between departure, they may close again.

Bags can not be checked more than four (4) prior to your specific departure

UA use to post hours online but seems to be gone

CDG T1 is closed. UA uses T2 and eligible passengers use the Air Canada lounge.

T1 may reopen around the end of this year.

Even back in January I didn't wear a mask in the AC lounge. I was sitting at the bar drinking.

Masks aren’t required. I was in the AC lounge last week around 10:30 am and it was packed.

Why didn’t anybody else think of a hotel as being a reliable source as to whether or not an airport lounge is open? Ignore the lounge finder, the recent experience of someone, and the fact that T1 is closed. Just ask to be dropped off at T1 - the “hotel thinks it’s open”
