first installation and first type acceptance taking longer than subsequent aircraft is not surprising.

Doubt that with the amount of N104UA test flights around SFO.

Would still like to see the N181UA flight history to believe it has WiFi.

Edit:
No FT member has reported it also.

Can someone decoder ring this:

Wifi: simply access to internet? Or inclusive of streaming AVOD?

To be clear, I'm interested in seeing the F/C AVOD selections while seated in Y on my laptop or tablet...for free. Any 747 capable of this yet?

Zero interest in pay WiFi internet access.

Has ANYONE reported N181UA as having active WiFi to the General Public?

Please Stop unless you have proof it is active and working to the General Public.

N104UA is the only 747 with WiFi Internet only (no Streaming) unless it's reported back that N181UA is working.

Internet Only on N104UA, no menu for movies or anything extra.

$14.99US LAX-SYD, very patchy over the ocean, after Hawaii it didn't really work until Noumea, then died even off the AU coast.

+1 for your post count. ;)

We are with 1 x 747 N104UA with WiFi Internet Only.

Power in Y, keep dreaming that will get killed off mid 2013 :)

[T]he info came from "Planemechanic" Who has access to internal company info as do I. So I'm pretty sure what I post or Planemechanic posts about 8481 is legit....don't believe us well then that's your problem. Because I'm sure him and I definately won't be posting info from the internal website. And don't believe what united.com says they still need to update the page.

Does not mean N181UA is active.

Has ANYONE reported that N181UA has active WiFi?

It's not a matter of believe, it's a matter of FACT that you know it is active.

Please don't post saying N181UA has WiFi unless YOU know it is active and working to the public.

Whatever then believe what you want. Just because no one has posted about it being active don't mean it's not active and I seriously doubt a well respected UA employee would tell one everyone here a non-active wifi 747 is flying around. That would be like me telling everyone here a IFEless 739ER now had DTV installed, but nope we decided not to activate it yet because we want you to suffer blah blah blah. Oh and if your getting your info off united.com don't believe what that says it takes a while to update. Heck when the 2-cabin 763s were getting reconfigured it was taking a week or 2 to reflect the changes on the amenities page.
