Great point, my hometown airport is BNA, so normally flying SW domestically so not a ton of experience when it comes to the ins and outs of some of this stuff.

thanks!

Do 1 A&B still have the extra leg room on this aircraft due to the cut out in the bulkhead, haven't been on one in ages.

Haven't been on one of the UA 737s for ages, so I was wondering: are the First Class seats on the B737 series the same as the "New F" ones on the Airbus A319/A320? I have had a couple of flights with the new F on the Airbus, really liked it.

Thanks for any hints

No, all flavors of 737 are currently flying with the old sCO 737 seat.

21A/F Seat Cushions

Does anyone happen to know whether 21A/F on the 73G has the lower-front (flatter angle) seat cushions like they do on the 738/739 in the exit rows.

Personally, find those tortuous on mid-cons like SFO-IAH, so for a longer IAH-UIO would be out of the question.

Just had a seatmap swap from the normal 737-700 map. I hadn't been on one in ages and was in 20C (one of the pair of exit row seats). I don't see this config on seat guru, just the United website (https://www.united.com/web/en-US/con...0/default.aspx) It is the 12/114 version 2. Any thoughts on this? They moved me to 21C, which I assume is the best option?

Version 2 is the new slimline cabin I think, judging by the 30" seat pitch.

The UA fleet website reports that the config changes started 2016Q4, and 4 have been converted, 1 sCO (3718) + 3 former Copa (3751/3752/3753).

E+ goes from 40 to 36 in this config, recline is reduced, yadayadayada.

Lucky me, I get to take this new torture config soon in E+. The regular economy space is right up there with tin can LCCs.

Seatguru needs to update their site. FT to the rescue though. Thanks.

Well, eventually we got a better deal (IMHO) - now flying SFO/PTY/UIO on Copa in J for only 15K miles more each.

My upcoming redeye transcon on a 737-700 has been changed from the traditional layout to the new, squeezed version 2. I'm in row 21 along the window (what used to be the seat with infinite legroom from the missing seat ahead). That's gone (sigh) but I just want to be sure - does anyone know for sure if row 21, the only apparent exit row seat, still has normal recline?

I tried to paste in the layout pic for ease of looking but I guess I don't know how. It's here: https://www.united.com/web/en-US/con...0/default.aspx

In this pic it looks like there should be no problem but I saw a different pic elsewhere that isn't as clear to me that row 21 is comfortably behind the exit. Anyway, I just want to be sure I'm not headed for a nonreclining redeye.

Many thanks if anyone can help.

737-700 v2 have only a single exit row and it is Row 21. Row 15 will be restricted / no recline. Row 21 should have standard recline and enhanced leg space.

I'm on a 737-700 later this month, in row 20. It's perfect for me and Mrs. Transportprof as it's a two seat row. Reminds me of the A319 before they mucked that plane up with the slimline seats.
But what happens to a seat assignment in row 20 if the plane is changed to v2 configuration at the last minute? And how long before departure do such changes usually occur?

Thanks, WineCountryUA; this looks like the place, and that looks like the answer. Ick, though - in general, this configuration looks like another change not to like, especially in the back.

Transportprof, I can only give you my experience on how far ahead the change posted for me - it was between 2 and 3 days. Which is pretty consistent with what I've heard in other contexts for how long in advance airlines assign actual frames. So start looking then, I suppose.

And agree, CApreppie. I did look at seatguru and they don't even show this config exists. I think they're generally not keeping up as well as they used to. People could and would always find reasons to complain about them - it's the internet's main function that can be described in a family site - but they used to be better.

Does row 3 have limited recline?
