United Airlines operates an "air side" shuttle bus between Terminals A and C from 4:00AM to 12:00AM (midnight). In addition, United also operates a shuttle bus connecting Terminals A and C to terminal B (pier 3, used by Star Alliance carriers) from 1:00PM to 11:00PM, but not in the opposite direction (shuttle does not board at Terminal B). The shuttle bus is available at gate A28 and C70 as illustrated in the image above. The shuttle drops off passengers at the terminal B through the service entry, that requires walking up 2 flights of stairs - there is no elevator. Only the front bus doors will open for alighting at terminal B.This service is free and you will not have to go through TSA security again. Please note this shuttle is operated at the sole responsibility of United Airlines and is subject to modification at their discretion.

You can submit mobile passport once the plane touches down, assuming you have cell data reception. You'll answer the standard questions for entry and take a photo in the app. The submission is valid for four hours.

Thank you, fumje and goodeats21 for your helpful advice.
As I get older, I find it helpful if I can plan as much as possible in advance for international travel - of course, rarely do things go exactly as planned!
But it at least helps one in handling the routine issues better - which means there is more bandwidth when the inevitable unexpected happens!

The app to use would be CBP MPC (app has a logo with MPC on it), and you can save the CBP form and store your passport and a picture of yourself before you leave for EWR, while you have data of course. When you land you can submit it, assuming you have service, and they'll send you a QR code which you'll need at passport control.

EWR Domestic to International Connection - Baggage

Tomorrow I’m flying on UA1779 MCO-EWR then UA940 EWR-LHR. It’s all on the same ticket.

Does anyone know if I can check my bags all the way through to LHR at MCO or will I need to collect and recheck them at EWR? Hoping to be able to stay airside in the same terminal during the connection.

I’ve checked EWR’s website and they only mention the procedure for International to Domestic luggage transfers and I can’t find any info searching the forums here.

You may have to change terminals, as United operates in all three terminals; although Terminal B is only used for partial international arrivals.

Your flight from Orlando can arrive in A or C, and your flight to London should leave from C.

EWR is using runway 29 for most landing and takeoffs due to high wind. That runway is around 6,700 feet long (or around 2,000 meters), two thirds of the distance of the two main runways.

11/29 is usually used by small planes, but even larger, widebody planes are joining the fun today.

Flying BOG-EWR-IAD and connecting at EWR for first time in ages. Arriving C131, assuming flight to IAD departs from C since it’s a 752. Any suggestions for security after customs , which checkpoint? Have clear and pre check. Thx! Taking some friends to classified for the first time since we have 2.5 hours.

EWR International Arrivals connection question

Could someone explain the logistics at EWR when connecting from an international arrival?

I'm contemplated arriving on SAS and connecting (which unfortunately has to be a separate ticket) onto UA for an onward domestic flight. I know that I will have to claim my bags at customs (Terminal B, International Arrivals). But my question is whether there is a UA counter at Terminal B International Arrivals for me to get my bags tagged for the domestic flight or whether I have to carry the bags to domestic check-in as if I were arriving at EWR as an O&D passenger.

There's perhaps a chance that SAS could tag my bags for the onward UA flight even though it's on a different ticket, as SAS and UA are both StarAlliance. But if they don't, is the a counter right there at International Arrivals where I can recheck the bag without having to carry it myself, potentially to another terminal.
