is web support gone?

Is the option of calling web support to avoid phone reservation fees gone?

I cannot get the flights I want displayed by the on-line reservation system. Orbitz does show them so they exist and are legal connections. In the past I simply called web support to book the flights with no additional phone charges.

Any ideas on what to do under the new regime?

You can call the UA electronic support desk, but you'll get ex-Con folks and not our friends in India. Still, they should be able to waive the fee for you. But expect a long hold.

That sounds like what I was looking for. Where did they hide the phone number? It used to be under the contact link.

I'm currently on hold with UA - 70 minutes so far - and I'd say given the loss of time, not only is web support gone but so is any support via phone. I cannot imagine how frustrated I'd be if I was actually flying today.

For as much as many FTers complained about getting routed to the ICC or MCC, I actually found them very helpful on numerous occasions. Hopefully we'll see the return of web support soon.

If we had web support and IF it is now gone, what makes you think it may come back?

Eliminating web support is not CO.O.L at all.

Thankfully since I posted that months ago, we have found that web support is indeed here to stay and their direct line is published in another thread.
