She told us to check online again in a month and if we were still having problems to call back:mad: So it is more than a website error I am afraid.
I'd call back much sooner than a month, that's for sure. |
Argh. Yoyoing of the account balances with new postings continue.. after all these months. Just had my ORC posted from mid-Feb but the actual miles totals decreased. Hopefully they spring back up to where they should be.

I apologized if this similar issue has been posted before.
I am trying to book IAH-NRT-BKK on Dec 11. If booking UA7 and UA887, R0 on both flights. If booking UA7 and UA9711, R9 on UA7. WHY???? Is this system bug or this is one of the games we need to play? Question,.. Assume I book the first option, if I apply GPU on UA7 and UA887, of course online will waitlist me on both UA7 and UA887 since there is no R. Can I call and ask the agent to manunally confirm R on UA7 and waitlist UA887 without having to use 2 GPUs? The reason I don't want to book UA9711 is because I do want that waitlist chance on UA887 in case it gets cleared. |

I booked a R/Trip MCO/LHR yesterday. On the return I could not book the flights I wanted in L class, even though it showed availability in L class on both segments, unless I booked them separately using the multiple destinations booking function, i.e. LHR/EWR and EWR/MCO. When I did this the system combined them and priced them out as in L class and gave me a R/Trip fare.
If I tried using R/Trip booking function it gave me LHR/EWR in L class, and EWR/MCO in K class, with a combined higher fare than just L class on both segments. Same flights to LHR and returning. Is this another bug? |

It's arguably a display bug/issue, but I believe that it's trying to say is that if not all eligible segments have R, you won't clear all when using the upgrade. ....
which what I think you are saying in the second part of the response

Yes, you can clear UA7 manually and waitlist UA887 without issue, but IIRC you will have to call to do so. |
Anyone else had this issue with the website:
Using a GPU to upgrade the domestic segments of an international itinerary in K class. Seat selections for all segments have blocked out picking an Economy seat. It shows you seated in Economy for the international segments (that were non-GPU-able), but you can't pick a new Economy seat. Instead you can only pick seats in the C cabin. No problems with the Domestic segment seat assignments. |

In the end I cleared SFO-NRT segment a day or so out, and the Asian segment at NRT airport, but was not happy thinking what would happen if I flew domestic f/c and in steerage on the over water flights (to NRT and on to Asia) IIRC this would have been UA pre 3/3. How long do I wait for?
I flew last Thursday (02 Aug) but my mileage account has not yet updated and this is 3 clear days so far. I am Silver, so how long should I wait for and at what point - and how - should I make contact with United to hurry it up?

UA website pin vs password, forced PIN choice
Feel free to nudge me elsewhere if this has been discussed.
Called to get my GPUs (SWUs) extended (tried for January, ended up with December 31, and am now trying to play roulette to use them). While on the phone, the agent says "You haven't selected a PIN. You need to pick one. Shall I do that now?" She also made me tell her my (now changed) password before working on my issue. I said, well, no, I don't want a 4 digit pin usable on the web site, I prefer a password for security. "Well, you have to select a PIN for when you call us to verify identity." Will it only work when I call, or online too? "It will only be for calling, not the web site. For the web site, your password will work." She was pretty insistent, so I let her because it was holding up my real issue. Of course, now I can log in using my PIN or my password. What's the point of both a PIN and a password? And why would the less secure method be forced? I get that pmCO had PINs and pmUA had passwords (my password ported properly to new website). Is there some other way to manage identify verification with them beyond sharing my password or using a 4 digit PIN? |
