Another system integration screw-up from your friends at United. And with three big problems with flights in the last 24 hours, I realize this is minor compared to keeping the planes safe.

Flew out of IAD to STL on Friday night. Flight posted last night as
8/17/2012 United 3364S
Washington (IAD)-St Louis S / S 250 250 696 1

When I called MileagePlus customer support, the agent informed me that there is a major system glitch ongoing and to allow up to fifteen days for the problem to get fixed.

Not amused, especially since I've been flying almost every weekend the last two months, and the majority of my flights have been delayed or in some cases cancelled.

Why is the default UA CS answer, "Allow 15 days?!"

Then, when those 15 days have passed, you'll get the promise that some "sweep" is going to fix things next weekend. Then you'll get another "15 days" answer when said "sweep" never happens.

Truly pathetic.

2 minutes ago I was told that this would take 7days to correct. I am not necessarily upset with this, it's not a big deal for me but I cant understand why UA doesn't have a huge banner on its website notifying everyone of the problem. Think of how much time the MP service center employees are wasting on this, and how much time members are wasting by calling in.

It does seem really lame at this point that stupid s... Like this keeps happening. Coming up on 6 months post-integration now....

The worrisome thing is that they will probably have to fix the fix (i.e. they will somehow either under-compensate or over-compensate the accounts and also add a few accounts into the issue that weren't affected to begin with).

Ugh, yes... Like with the "Map Your Nightmares" screw-up where their "fix" took away more miles from some peoples' accounts than they had originally been granted! I haven't heard much about that "fix" being fixed yet.

Yeah but let's be fair to United's crack IT staff. It probably took up quite a bit of their time taking back people's Map of Dreams miles and undoing 4mile HKG reservations

Yes, I am a little worried that something like that will happen when they fix this fix. As long as my GPUs recently deposited aren't taken back, it will be OK. I'm on .bomb every day checking for a better seat on my upcoming trip, so I'll just keep an eye on it.

I told the UA CS that I was going to hold on to the boarding passes until the correct miles were posted to my account.

The flight that posted incorrectly has now unposted from my MP account.

My account was corrected as of this morning.

My account was corrected this morning as well. Though there was no deduction/recredit, just the same line item with a different mileage than yesterday. It was corrected in a few days so I guess I can't complain too much but it would be nice to see a record of them pulling miles out.

Speaking of glitches, I have a B fare reservation with an applied GPU showing as 100% PQMs instead of 150%. Called to inquire and was told "It's glitch and should post as 150% after the flight. Call us back if it doesn't."

So we'll see. I'm slightly worried about it because I paid up to the B fare from W (needed to change flights, saw a pretty low B fare price and went for it). I fear that if it doesn't post correctly they will try to tell me the PQMs are based on the original W fare and tough luck, even though I was careful to ask about this at the time of purchase and have an email confirmation stating it's a B fare. No fun to play the "wait and see" game.

I'm in the same boat and was told the same thing so we'll see (and I also have my original e-recpt showing my B fare and will guard it like Fort Knox "just in case I have to send it in" ;))

Please report back here-- I'm anxious to know how it turns out for you. My flight is on 8/30, so will know results a few days after that.
