A FA on my recent IAD/SFO flight said she surmised that the ice cream sundae service (which she called "a complete hassle") was designed to make the pax forget the mediocre main meal.

Thanks for the info, the wife will be happy now!

FAs seem to give a pretty big eyeroll when you ask for every topping.

I love the sundaes, personally. I think they're classy. Since the cookies have been downgraded to no bigger than the size of a Chips Ahoy (and taste about as good), I see the sundaes as a big improvement.

I also like the ice cream service. Plus, all the more reason to order a Baileys as an accompaniment! ^

They are very classy....way better than the cookies which not only are smaller but the non-chocolate chip ones (ie, oatmeal raisin) have been creeping in far too often

My husband always asks for every topping, and he has always had a friendly reception.

I'm 3-for-3 on getting the eyeroll.

Lol...just wondering, do the FA's have to scoop the ice cream themselves?

IAD - SEA flights

Any recent reports for flights to Seattle from Dulles for breakfast on UA698 and return for lunch on UA1698? I assume UA1698 gets lunch even though departure is 1P PT because the flight is 2306 miles.

BusinessFirst Meals are better than GlobalFirst

I've had a handful of BusinessFirst (EWR-STR/-FRA) and GlobalFirst (LHR-SFO/-LAX, DXB-IAD) flights lately and have to say the food in BusinessFirst has been superior to that of GlobalFirst. I find the portion sizes to be larger, the food more fresh, and presentation on CO metal better than on UA metal.

As far as wine/bar offerings, I also find them comparable. Is there really a distinct difference between F and J wines/champagnes?

Hawaii service question

Does anyone know if the 'champagne' on the mainland to HNL flights (ORD-HNL) is just the veuve de vernay french sparking wine that is the PBD on intercontinental flights?

and also,

Is the hindu meal any good on this 'transcon' route?

and lastly,

Im flying ORD-HNL, then next day HNL-NRT
If I get hindu meal ORD-HNL, can I have a normal meal HNL-NRT (since the food is actually good on that flight)

thoughts?

Thanks

on a recent flight the fa gave one guy

a sunday topped with whipped cream and miltiple maraschino cherries as a special treat. I don't think he ate it all. I agree the sundae service is cool
