upgrade status changed
I have two different it-ins booked for United in the next couple of weeks. When i first checked the res online it showed the upgrade was pending but my class of service was first (NF i think?) now the upgrade shows pending but my class of service is economy...
What gives? I'm platinum on CO and i *believe* the reservations were made via continental but I'm not sure (they are united metal).

The NF/Pending thing was a bug in the reservation system and the way the CO and UA systems talk to each other. You were never actually upgraded originally. The way it shows now - pending and in coach - is quite likely the correct way it should appear.

BTW, United.com recently made a change (within the past week) where reservations with Continental codeshare flights are no longer showing "First (NF)" as the fare class booked along w/ Upgrade: Pending. The reservations now correctly show the coach class that the flights were booked with. Upgrade should still say Pending.
CO Plats are upgraded after UA 1P's. it goes UA GS, UA 1K, UA 1P, CO Plat....

Yes, I've noticed this change. My last CO-booked, UA-operated itin, I had the NF and upgrade pending thing, and seatmap would only show F, even though I was only confirmed in Y, so couldn't change seats. Now, this type of reservation, at least in my case, doesn't show the seatmap on UA.com at all - I have to go to CO.com to do anything with seats - that option was never available before.

This reservation has my UA 1P number in it.
Whenever I look at UA-operated flight seat maps on CO.com the exit rows are always unavailable but E+ seats are available. Hopefully this is fixed before we're all forced to only use continental.com for seat assignments on all flights.

I am on a CO tickt, but on UAL. I am P2 and I am not sure if this is correct, but my UDU should have been processed this morning at 7:30AM as SEA-IAD in F is only 1/2 full. I called and they told me that the UG is "Requested" at 72 hrs & will not confirm it. Agent said I will have to wait until I get to the gate that they can't confirm UDU. Is this normal?

It appears that CO codeshare flights on UA metal with CO flight numbers now get processed for UDUs at one's elite window instead of the day before travel when the flights revert to their UA numbers/designators. As noted, the window doesn't guarantee you will be upgrade that early, but all but two of my flights in the past year of UDUs have cleared within a day of the window opening, and of these two one cleared a few hours before the flight, the other didn't clear as there was no F to be had.
