They are still there.

And American style sandwiches are a rarity in Europe.

The Polaris food reviews are currently dismal and I like to eat when I am hungry and not be trapped by the tray . . . much appreciate your suggestions.
The Meyer Coffee Kitchen locations have sandwiches, but I don't think that there is one on the Z level. I think that Heberer's Bakery also has something sandwich like, and they are on the Z level. As noted, these aren't American sandwiches, but should be enough for you to take with you on the plane.

Heberer's: https://www.frankfurt-airport.com/en...-bakery-2.html (best I could do)

Thanks for the food suggestions . . I understand the sandwiches are European! Doesn't sound like there is a MUST eat option but I won't starve, of course. Can I make a sandwich in the LH club and take it with me or are they . . . strict? Europe has such great bread. I will be in FRA from 8:10 to 11:05 (AM). Maybe the Polaris food will be better by December?? Thanks again . . .

Yes you can make one but LH lounge only has basic cold cuts and cheese.

The LH lounge sometimes has mini-sandwiches, so you could grab some of those. Just bring a ziplock or two to carry them in...

I'm not sure what an "american style sandwich" is. You can find meat and cheese between bread at multiple places in the airport

That is way too restrained to be an American style sandwich.

This is an American style sandwich.

What I wouldn't give for a Katz's deli Pastrami sandwich to be on the menu options!

You might be able to find a “cannibal sandwich” (aka Mettbroetchen)

The topic of European vs American sandwich's has probably been sufficiently explored for this thread, let's return to the titles topic, using FRA by UA travelers.

If I book a LH flight from HAJ to FRA to connect to Condor FRA - PHX it looks as if both use T1.
with Frankfurt being what it is I assume there is security between these two flights and that I need a nice amount of buffer to make sure the connection can be done without trouble
are there any FRA connections without security to go through ?

It is rare -- arrivals from the US sometimes do not have to go through security -- but it is highly dependent on where you arrive... For your flights you will need to do passport control and then security - since you are leaving the EU in FRA....
