Thanks both of you so much! for some reason I wasn't getting far with Googling. The photos didn't show sandwiches or had some bad reviews. And I don't really know where I am going! Haven't transferred in Frankfurt in decades and I remember soldiers with machine guns in the terminal. Maybe the 1980's?? The Meyer Coffee Kitchen locations have sandwiches, but I don't think that there is one on the Z level. I think that Heberer's Bakery also has something sandwich like, and they are on the Z level. As noted, these aren't American sandwiches, but should be enough for you to take with you on the plane.
