Sorry for the delay in getting an answer on this. My contact tells me Cholula is stocked at ASDA stores in the UK. When looking for it, check both the condiment (ketchup, steak sauce, etc.) section as well as the Mexican Foods section of the store. Various stores place it in various areas.

). Nearer London, I'm sure they'll have them.
It's going to be quite a while before I can go to an Asda though - every other supermarket giant has stores I can readily access, but not this one. They're all just outside of London or in the suburbs and none of them are within reach.
It's a shame Selfridges is currently out of stock.
Nevermind, I WILL get hold of this sauce... eventually. Thanks for looking into it for me!

Plugged in my postcode ages ago (NW1). I'm not.
According to the store locator, nearest is in Ealing(???), then Old Kent Road, Clapham, Wembley, Colindale, Walthamstow & Leyton.
The one in Colindale might be worth the trek as it's next to Oriental City (not sure how I'd manage it by bus, and its just under a 20 minute walk away from the tube station - not that I can travel by tube at the moment... or walk that far).
But Chinatown is so much easier for me to get to than Oriental City (I used to be a regular visitor back in the days when it was the Yaohan Plaza Japanese superstore... ah... the bubble years...)
Anyway, with all the anticipation, I'm sure Cholula sauce will taste all the better when I finally do get some. It's just a shame I can't pick it up IN London - I thought my range with the buses was pretty extensive.

THIS is London . . .
Hi From the Starbucks on Edgware Road near Marble Arch! I don't know if this is in your area or not Lap Lap, but the RiteWay shop at 57 Edgware Road carries it. If you can send one of your operatives to pick it up for you, it's on a shelf on the left just after the dairy case.
Cheers!

Hi
If you're in NW1 it's worth checking out MESTIZO, a Mexican restaurant on Hampstead Road. I haven't been past for a while but they definitely had Cholula for sale. The food there is also great, authentic Mexican so worth checking out.
The address is 103 Hampstead Road

Yeay!!!
Thanks for the gloriously detailed info on the shop on Edgeware Road, youreadyfreddie. That's certainly a viable option.
The place near Euston philiplee suggested would be more convenient, but I'll have to give them a call first to see if they'd sell me a bottle of the sauce (the website just shows it as a restaurant). Cheers for that!
EDIT TO ADD: Just had a nice chat with a guy there - they don't have that brand anymore and as he was just about to start describing the alternatives, I interrupted by switching to Spanish and apologising for not being interested in them. He was very sweet!
Either way, seems I'll be chowing on Cholula pretty soon
.
- and a big thank you to a certain Scottish moderator, who's offered to send me a sample. ^
(And I'm doubly thankful... just got the news today that despite some encouraging progress, my condition is rather more serious than is normal, so I may not get back to full mobility for quite a while....)
FINAL EDIT: So it's a trip to Edgeware road then. I think I can get MrLapLap to push me there through Regents Park. He loves that walk and seems genuinely tireless when it comes to manouvering me around - he always prefers walking to getting on a bus, even when behind my wheels.

The weather was beautiful when I left yesterday, so if it's still nice, and the forecast was that it will be for the rest of this week, it should be a good excursion. As long as you're in the neighborhood, if you turn right when you leave the Riteway and might continue down the block toward Marble Arch, the Maroush Deli (45-47 Edgware Road) is on the corner on the same side of the street. Their baklava is a sinful little piece of heaven. They'll pack it on a clear plastic plate sealed with cling film if you want to take it home with you. They have a varied selection incorporating different types of nuts--pistachios, walnuts, cashews, etc. I have a week's worth of sins to atone for in the gym I'm afraid. Might be a nice sweet to follow up the spicy Cholula sauce!
Enjoy!

ps: The Riteway is tiny and you might have a problem getting in with your chair, but I THINK they might have a ramp, not positive though.

In order to sample it immedaitely, MrLapLap got sent out... again... a few doors down for a bag of chips/thick fries.
Two slices of home-made vaguely garlicky bread, some mayonnaise, a portion of chips and a liberal dousing of cholula went in to making the ultimate chip butty.
Cholula was everything I hopedit would be - not too fiery (a nice complex heat to warm the front half of my mouth), a full rounded flavour, very moorish and, important for me this, induced thirst (I can never seem to drink as much liquid as I'm supposed to) without being uncomfortable.
MrLapLap summed it up perfectly - he said the sauce made the chips taste like chicken (and nobody loves chicken more than MrLapLap).
Thanks to everyone for your help! Whilst this won't be a regular supplier, at least I'll have some whilst I casually search for a more dependable source.

Brilliant indeed! In hindsight, I should have asked the guys to stock up so there would be more for you. I'm glad you got it and that you like it.
Am now having a Homer Simpson moment . . . Mmmmm, chip butty.

Had you only posted sooner! I'm headed to London early tomorrow morning and will be packing a bottle of Cholula (the hot sauce, not the FT member/moderator) in my suitcase for my boyfriend. The bottles are relatively light and compact, and I could have gotten a few extra and popped them in the mail to you once I got to London. Oh well, it looks like Cholula (the FT member/moderator, not the hot sauce) may have you all sorted for a consistent supply anyway.
If my suitcase gets screened, someone is going to have fun going through all the "special requests" I am bringing over for friends:
-Several different bottles and brands of pepper sauces ranging from hot to supernova
-Marshmallow Creme/Fluff
-See's chocolates (I love See's, but am surprised that folks in the UK request it as I would have guessed their preference would be for something made in the UK or Europe)
-Godiva chocolates (same comment as above)
-M&Ms (for the definitive M&Ms versus Smarties smackdown taste test)
-Buddy Holly Rarities CD
-Various girly things--scented lotions and bath products (which amazes me because I think there are better ones readily available in the UK!)
I'm hoping I'll have room in my suitcase for a change of clothing!
Cheers!

Fluff & Godiva are available from the aforementioned Selfridges food hall, very good place that. Fluff used to be available all over London in Harts stores before Tesco took the chain over and killed off the speciality products that they used to sell
.
Godiva is also available from the Godiva shop on Regent Street.

I suspect the Godiva for sale in the UK is the real deal from Belgium-not the stuff mass produced in Camden New Jersey(hate it)

As mentioned, the Asda store in Essex near my parent's weekend retreat doesn't stock it. Neither did the Asda near Kingston.
We stocked up some months ago from the Asda in Colindale (they only had the 60ml size) and were just down to our last bottle when my parents offered to take me shopping.
As they have a car, we went to Oriental City in Colindale (closing down in May - it shows) and, just to get more Cholula, we went next door to the Asda.
Lucky for me Cholula was on Special Offer - so just 78p a 60ml bottle.
We didn't quite clear out the store but did take 20 bottles - 19 of which I've kept. We calculate (based on previous, modest, consumption) that we have a year's worth.
