$770 in surcharge for one-way business. is it normal?

Also, how close-in, or how far in advance, is the flight you're looking at? Is this for travel during high/peak demand periods (upcoming holidays, etc.)?
In some systems, "prices" for last-minute (or nearly last minute) flights, or for flights during holidays/periods of high demand, can be shockingly high.
Don't know if that applies to TK award surcharges or not (I agree, $770 does sound high), but it might be informative.

Central Asia to US is 250,000 miles for a return TK standard award in C/J, so 125,000 miles for a o/w ticket is spot on.
If you would be able to find promotional award availability it would be 52,500 for o/w ticket but finding availability to SFO/US on short notice like this, is close to impossible.
USD 770 sounds right for KTM-IST-SFO. Alone YR is USD 615 for this trip.
