That explains why SFB has kiosks. :D

I arrived from lhr on aa 105 in jfk T8. They had the line barriers set in a bad way--to get to the Global Entry terminals it seemed that you had to stand on the line for non-US citizens, you had to move one of the separators manually to gain access to the GE terminals (there were only two--but I was the only one using GE so there was NO problem for my flight).
GE worked perfectly and in less than a minute or two I received my slip and a minute later I was out of the customs area.^

Asked the same thing at Denver back in the summer. Pretty much the same response, only the person said she doubted it would ever get there, citing the low traffic.

That's too bad to hear about Denver! But since we only have flights to Mexico, Frankfurt and London, I can see why they would say that... DIA needs to attract some more international traffic.

Similar bad setup over at JFK 2/3; guess JFK needs to square itself away.

Global Entry

I'm curious to find out how may more FTr's use the Global Entry program when arriving on INTL flights.

I've used it all year and can from personal experience it's a great progam...especially in ORD when 5-6 flights seem to be arriving en mass. Usually takes about 30 secs to clear Immigration with absolutely no waiting.

When I interviewed with CBP at the beginning of the year they said they needed more people to start using the program or it might be shelved because of the expense.

Mods plz move as necessary..

It is a fantastic program but it has nothing to do with UA or MP. This thread will get moved.

I love it. Though the post is misplaced. Mods?

I return via IAD and usually there a short line at immigration. Last trip, however, the lines were incredibly long, and I eyed longingly the empty Global Entry kiosks.

So I applied for Global Entry last week. I was hoping for an immediate response so that I could do my "interview" today when I was in DC (I live about 3 hours outside of DC). However, my file is still listed online at GOES as "Pending Review" with a note to let them know if I haven't heard anything in eight weeks! So it goes.

It will probably clear much more quickly. For those who have Nexus it clears within 20 minutes, otherwise there is probably a decent amount of background checking that needs to be done.

Super program. I've loved it that it seems seldom used, but I'd hate to see it die for lack of use. My experience has been pretty much zero wait for lines. V cool....

When did you do your interview? When I had mine last week, the officer told me that they have seen a big improvement in enrollments... He didn't say anything about the program being shut down...

Your check should clear pretty quickly. Maybe the people who approve apps were away for Thanksgiving, so now they have to catch up on any apps that they missed... I applied for Global Entry, and then a week later I was granted access to the program.. I would just keep checking on GOES to see what your status is. When I was checking mine, the status updated after I had logged-in, so I was pretty amazed to see it go from "Pending Review" to "Conditionally Approved"

I wasn't sure I should write a column about it -- not to give away the secret -- but CBP assured me they can handle many more members and add kiosks.
