I wonder what NEXUS-GE folks do. My understanding is that you can't have two TT cards, so if you have GE with NEXUS, you only have a NEXUS card.
The cards are almost exactly the same except that they say "NEXUS" instead of "GLOBAL ENTRY". |
The issue I have is being required to carry the card if, say, I am returning to the US via ATL. Ordinarily, there is no way I would ever carry my NEXUS card on a trip that didn't involve Canada. I shouldn't have to carry it because some random person at ATL decides to make up his/her own rules. There's also the very real risk that the individual wrongly demanding to see the GE card won't recognize or accept the NEXUS card, either.

Put your thumb over NEXUS and waive the card. People making up their own rules won't know the difference. ;)

This response from the CBP infuriates me. Only US citizens and LPRs are supplied with GE cards. Other citizens are _not_ mailed GE cards.

GE card uses
Actually your global entry card once activated can be used when re entering the United States from Canada in the NEXUS lanes as long as everyone in the vehicle has a global entry, SENTRI, or NEXUS card-TTP that has been activated. You can also use it in the SENTRI lanes from Mexico provided that the vehicle is registered and everyone has a valid TTP card.
Note that when driving TO canada only nexus cards will get you in Canada using the nexus lanes. |

Because if they allows TSA Pre✓ merely because you are card-carrying member, they lose the ability to revoke your membership (due to new criminal conviction or other disqualifying factors) prior to card expiration date. Airline submission of KTN and TSA response is a verification that your membership is in order.
The alternative is to implement document scanners at all TSA Pre✓ checkpoints and connected to TSA systems to verify trusted traveller membership is active which increases the processing time for each passenger's document check at TSA Pre✓ checkpoints. Is there any reason to have the card with you when you travel? |

For the reasons listed above I have never carried my card on my person.

I just passed through YVR this week and it did take some convincing to obtain access to the GE security line without the card. We both still have the CBP sticker on the last page of our passports, which was enough to persuade her that we belonged there.
thank you and safe travels... |

Calgary Security. Need physical Global Entry card?
Flying back to the US from YYC with WestJet. I inquired on Canadian side of security if express lane included Global Entry. The person manning that station asked for my GE card, to which I replied I didn't have with me because it was not needed. He said that it was needed. I am puzzled. Can anyone confirm or deny? I had TSA-Pre printed on my boarding passes as well.
I was able to go thru GE Kiosks on the USA without any problems at all. When I inquired with CBP officer, it was the usual pleasant friendly conversation that is expected when interacting with them: "That's Canada side, they do what they want. Why are you asking me? I am on the US side". So the question is, as GE member without actual GE card with me, should I have been able to use the express security area before getting to CPB pre clearance area? |
