Finally after 18.5 months my almost 2 year old is conditionally approved! Guess appts are still hot, as there was one at Blaine centre for Nov 24, for 10 seconds and then gone.

Applied May 3, 2021
Called 2x during that time after it was past processing times (when it was 12-14 months then 16-18).
Conditionally approved Nov 16, 2022

7 min before our email notification for change, I recieved a reply back to our case number to log in to his account to see status. So maybe the 2nd escalated case helped.

Where did you call?

1-877-227-5511
Press 1 for English
Then 1, 3, 1
That gets you to the Nexus application status check line.

Is this more a status check, or what is it exactly?

Just received conditional approval for my Nexus application submitted on July 3rd of this year. It was a new application. Interestingly, my wife also got conditionally approved at the same time.

My first appointment is on Dec 7th in Detroit. However, my preference is Niagara falls.

If a new appointment in Niagara falls opens up, do I :
a. cancel my appointment and rebook; or
b. should I use reschedule interview option?

What's the difference?

Thanks

Got my hopes up for a new application (not mine) also submitted on July 3rd . Went to check email and TTP to check, though it is still in pending review.

You can use the reschedule interview option, as cancelling the appointment might leave you stuck without one. I originally had an appointment booked in Fort Erie back in March for the end of May but switched over to Niagara Falls once the announcements for the US locations reopening and it was very easy to do so.

Even though I'm still waiting for conditional approval, I've been watching appointment availability. I noticed too that Detroit is pretty much wide open for the next few months.

I live on the East Coast, with PHL being my closest major airport. There are a couple things travel related that I as an AvGeek have been wanting to do anyway. Assuming I get approval before too long, I plan to just take a couple days and make a trip to Detroit.

it gets you to a live agent. They say in the greeting they only see what we see, but I know they see more. On one call they could see the usa agent had already reviewed. They also put in 2 requests to have the file looked at. Think it was the 2nd request that finally worked. They can make notes for agents reviewing the file too.

Family member applied May 2021 and was just approved. His LPR wife was approved in only a few weeks, and his baby that was born earlier this year was approved months ago. No real rhyme or reason to approvals I guess.

LPR being quicker makes a bit sense. They've already had to go through a full background check.

I am considering flying into Winnipeg and driving down to North Dakota with a rental vehicle when i receive my conditional approval (15 months and counting). Do you think that's a good idea?
I'm a Canadian citizen by the way.

No issues crossing with rental. I would recommend getting a printed contract; some agencies doings just email agreements these days with paper upon request.

Detroit is pretty much wide open. That's what I'm planning to do when if I get approved sometime soon.
