After submitting (and paying for) a Global Entry or NEXUS application, how long does it take to get approval to move to the next step? What has been people's experience?
Also, after it moves forward and you do the in-person interview, how long until things are approved and you can use NEXUS or GE?
Thanks,
RM

Not really Delta related. Arrived ATL early this afternoon, got my Global Entry receipt, proceeded to baggage claim and recovered my luggage, beelined for the GE exit point. CBP officers motioned to go the other way through the regular line. When I get there I see a confused look on the agents face, she says: "Where is your declaration? Did you go through the line? I said no, this is a Global Entry receipt, she gives me a deer in the headlights look. I'm getting ready to say something I might regret when she figures it out and motions me through. I'm wondering why these people are getting paid if they aren't aware of their own programs? Sorry, just venting.
Afterwards I realised that the same thing would surely apply when you hand in the regular blue form..... but have NEVER been asked. WTH??
Not complaining (took 5 seconds and I am not DYKWIA), just curious about the weird reason given.

Added: RM reminded me to add that both of us had about 30 or so countries on our international list. I don't know if that is "long" or not in the context of this thread.

I actually had my interview for NEXUS (aka cheaper Global Entry
) last Friday and was approved. The application review process took over a week for me but that's probably because my list of foreign countries visited in the last five years is quite long. The interview process couldn't have been easier. A few minutes with US CBP and then a few more minutes with Canadian CSBA.

Applying for Flux and then using that to obtain Privium sounds attractive, but the costs are so high (EUR100 for Flux and another EUR150 or something for Privium... per year) that the time savings didn't quite seem worth it to me when I last considered it.
Getting Global Entry free with Nexus was the best $50 I've ever spent, though, bar none... an example of government (Department of Homeland Security, no less!) actually doing something extremely well.

GE is the best thing to come along since sliced bread. 10 minutes from the time the door opened and i cleared immigration, customs and security in DTW the other day. Of course I only had carry on bags so I did not have to wait for that. GE takes the worry out of connections when traveling light.

Since this thread is no longer DL specific I imagine it's going to get kicked out soon.
Anyway, rumor has it Global Entry fees rise in June of this year. The rumor I heard was it was going up to $500 per application. The US DHS agent I interviewed with also heard the fees were going up in June but didn't have a $ number.

Out of curiosity, when have you found Privium to be most useful? Given that AMS has an Elite line, I've never had to wait more than 3-5 minutes to clear passport control into or out of Schengen - even when landing in a peak KLM bank.
