VS is not *A but it is 49% owned by SQ.

Great trip report MCS.^

Slightly OT, but what did this cost you in BD miles/cash/taxes?

I'm guessing 80,000 miles + £540, but how much in taxes?

Good to see someone else trying first for the first time, is this what Flyertalk is doing to us?
I'm really enjoying your report, another first timers insight, have a great remainder of your trip !!

Wait, VS Club in LHR has a swimming pool???!!! Now, that's one innovative thing for a lounge. Practicality is a completely different issue.

I so dearly miss SQ F. I am having routing issues to get on SIN-LHR-SIN on SQ (award seats for 744 F is available) as part of Asia to South America F award - making me to choose LH all the way instead of a combination of SQ and LH/LX. Very sad.

Yes, I believe they have some sort of arrangement, as a couple of years ago I had the 'pleasure' of flying SQ F JFK-FRA-SIN and was able to use the wonderful VS Club in JFK-- While in FRA we were not allowed access to the LH F, but merely the UA F, which was bland in comparision.

Yes indeed, standard z1-z7 redemption. 80k + £540 + about £250 in taxes (ish).

Thanks for all the nice comments guys... will be writing the next sector this afternoon/evening...

Yes indeed the clubhouse has a small swimming/plunge pool. Just to add, they do have one of those high speed swimming trunks/costume dryers that means you can dry your kit in a matter of seconds before leaving the clubhouse ^
