Time to lunch:

Considering the last proper meal I had was something like 18 hours ago I’m really not that hungry so I’ve gone for the burger on the basis that I will feel no guilt leaving half of it.

Update: How on earth do you make chewy chips?

Gate A9 for this final leg and I was first on board followed by the usual suspects that required assistance to board the plane and then nigh on sprinted down the aisle with multiple suitcases, it’s a miracle!

The only questions remaining….

Will the case make it to NCL?

Will it be undamaged?

Will the contents have survived?

Only time will tell!

Next stop, Newcastle in an hour and a bit.

The pre-departure speech by the in flight manager included this “please ensure that you mute all mobile devices, including children, for the duration of the flight”

Todays menu

I didn’t bother with the food, just had a Diet Coke.

Landed at 15:13 and the usual short taxi to Gate 3, and now we wait

And wait we did, it was 25 minutes before my bag emerged, intact and complete with all tags.

Currently ending the trip in my usual fashion by writing this last update whilst in an uber home.

This was an interesting diversion in many ways. I was surprised at how friendly absolutely everyone I met was, especially in the bars but when taking pictures, and even in Party Source other shoppers started conversations. . And the number of people who started religious and political conversations was bizarre and very unexpected. Cincinnati airport is also very odd, no duty free rat run, no left luggage facility. The two long haul flights couldn’t have been more different.

Now I have 18 hours to turn things around before I leave the house again for a week in Bedford!

Great report, glad you're doing them again.

Did you renew GGL, or is this a last hurrah until the card expires?

Why are you giving gifts to the crew. I wish you and the few others who do this would stop doing so. Or at least give the gift after the flight and not before. It is bad form to give before as it becomes a perception of quid pro quo... unless that is the specific intent.

Anyhow, I hope you enjoy your visit to my country.

Lovely TR! Great idea to have such tasting. Did you check your cabin bag, or you had a full-size suitcase?

The last hurrah on 30th April I think although there is still the mystery of why the recently delivered card expires 10/26, not 4/26

It serves as an ice breaker. Theres really no quid pro quo possible when you're in F or J

Thanks for the trip report. I enjoyed this one and your Louisville one from last year. Ironically enough, I was actually on the late running inbound leg of BA121 that took you back to LHR. Not sure if they ever made any announcements at CVG about the reason for the delay, but we were told that they had "trouble" moving the airstairs at the remote stand following our boarding. We then had a slog through some pretty strong headwinds to finally make it to CVG.

Thanks for the pictures of the Escape lounge, that is miles better than the old one. Unfortunately, we left CVG on the 27th so we didn't get a change to use it. That late in the evening, it was always more pleasant to go sit in the terminal than in the old Escape lounge with ever seat filled.

Its definitely one of the nicer ones I have been in, and the staff were excellent. Also the upsell premium spirit was a nice touch, especially as the standard spirits were actually pretty premium to begin with.

Flighty is such a great app, often ahead of the airline with delays for sure.

A great TR, not a destination I have considered before reading.
