Sevilla: Plaza de Espana
The first evening we went to Plaza de Espana. Itīs a buisy place in Maria Luisa park with many colorful tiles where you even boat. It was built for the Ibero-American Exposition in 1929.
On the place are corners which are all dedicated to one of the Spanish provinces.
We were grad we visited the first day as the place was closed during the naex days for "security reasons". It seems itīs closed from time to time if weather is stormy as it was at night.

Sevilla: Cathedral outside
First morning we started with the Cathedral. The Cathedral is part of UNESCO World Heritage. It shall be the 3rd biggest church in the world and the biggest gothic church. In the end it depends how you rate the size. However, it is huge.
You can clearly see itīs not the small church next door:
From this point you have a better Impression of the size:
In front of the entrance was a long queue.
At least you wait with a view:

If you expect a spectacular inner room after you saw the Cathedral from outside you wonīt be disappointed.
Some art on display:
There are some gravesites at the Cathedral

We went next to the sacrity which now hosts together with other rooms the museum:
A white room:
The chapter house:
wooden ceiling
and crown:
Back at the nave:
The main altar:
The choir:
Aisle with monstrance:
One of the 2 organs
with entrance to the choir:
Last view at the ceiling:
Next we went up the tower.....

Sevilla: Cathedral Giralda
Next we went up the tower (Giralda). In difference to most towers instead of climbing stairs you walk on a ramp. On the way are from time to time artefacts on display like this door:
From the top we enjoyed nice views (unfortunately due to constuction works only in 3 directions).

Sevilla: Archivo General de Indias
Another World Heritage site is Archivo General de Indias. From outside itīs a nice building:
Inside the staircase is noteworthy:
They transfered some rooms to a museum:
Interesting were some old maps:
I guess the treasure of the archives are the documents (which are difficult to exhibit, the rooms are nice but no sensation. As the entrance is free itīs nevertheless worth a short visit.

Sevilla: Reales Alcázares
First we wanted to visit the Reales Alcázares after our Arrival. Unfortunatelly the queue at the entrance in the nice "warm" sun.was very long. Next morning it was the same:
Fortunatelly you are able to book timed tickets at the Internet for an entrance in 5 minutes what we did and skipped the line .
We first started with the a room (I think was the ambassadors room) which was transfered to a chapel.
Patio de la Montería
We decided first to visit the jardines del Alcázar.
Patio de las Flores
Jardín de la Danza
Pabellón de Carlos V
Basin with pavillion
Jardín Inglés
Puerta de Marchena
Fuente de Mercurio
Views from Galeria del Grutesco
The gardens are truly beautiful!
Letīs go inside again .

Sevilla: Reales Alcázares
Palacio Gótico
Patio de las Doncellas
Salón de Embajadores
Alcoba Real
The Reales Alcázares is crowded and that has a good reason. It is beautiful and many elements reminds of Alhambra.

Sevilla: San Salvador
San Slavador is the 2nd largest church in Sevilla.
The inner room is dominated by the main altar.
Side altar
Carrying structure
In the church were 2 Madonna figures on display, which only could be photographed 1 hour per day. It was this hour and many people used the oppurtunity.
I think I would have survived without the pictures

Sevilla: Casa de Pilatos
Only a few steps and we reached our next stopp, Casa de Pilatos:
Heart of the house and most impressive part is the patio:
Closer look to the small chapel
Significant at the house are the many tiles
Here some Roman elements
and different parts of the gardens:
Another room with tiles:
Detail
Interesting picture by Jusepe de Ribera from 1631: La Mujer Barbuda (The bearded woman):
More tiles .
in different rooms:

Sevilla: Carriage ride
I would say at Sevilla the chance to be knocked over by a carriage is much higher than by a car. It seems every Tourist do a carriage ride and you can imagine what my girlfriend asked for
..
So we sat in a carriage with a brown horse:
We saw many carriages doing races in the city and were glad our driver was a calm guy. Here some impressions:
I think you can perfectly survive withour a carriage ride but to be fair it was pretty nice. I think it was 45,00 for the half hour tour.
