Cordoba: Judería
The Judería is the old Jewish quarter of Cordoba. It offers indeed narrow Streets and some nice Buildings. Otherwise you mustn´t expect too much.
I guess this was the famous Calleja des las Flores but as it seems no one wanted to see it I decided to leave it by this view.

Jaen: Castillo de Santa Catalina
For our last full day at La Bobadilla we decided to do a heavy program and to visit Jaen, Baeza and Ubeda. We started in Jaen and first drove up the hill to visit Castillo de Santa Catalina. There is also a Parador.
The Castle itself is partly a ruin but well preserved. Even from the parking lot we could enjoy a good view. After we entered the castle we even had a better view:
There are several rooms you can visit like this one in the tower.
But the star is the view
Good view over the castle
They have a very small chapel
View from the front tower
Overview from the "other" side
The vault
It´s build on the edge
The landscape is dominated by olive trees

Jaén: Cruz del Castillo de Santa Catalina
On one of the pictures from the front tower you could see a cross, that´s the viewpoint Cruz del Castillo de Santa Catalina. You reach it over a very nice path.
The view is quite different as you can see parts of the city you can´t see from the castle.
Most significant is the cathedral which we will visit later.

Jaén: Cathedral
Main reason for my visit of Jaén was the cathedral. After I saw it from the cross I could take a closer view:
From inside it´s a typical Spanish cathedral with a separated Choir and an impressive ceiling.
Entrance to the choir:
The ceiling:
In the crypt is a small museum.
Sacristy
You can climb up the cathedral from where you can enjoy a good view inside from different windows.

Jaén: Palacio de los Villardompardo
We did a 15 minutes walk to Palacio de los Villardompardo which is today the regional museum. Beside some exhibitions af naive art and ethnology there was also something About the production of olive oil (taking pictures in this parts were forbidden).
While the exhibitions were nice my reason to visit was another. In the basement you can visit the most extensive Banos Árabes in Spain. The first room had some excavations under a glass bottom on display.
The Baths from the 11th century are well preserved and consist of several rooms.
Finally we went to the roof wherefrom you can view the surrounding.

We started at Plaza Santa Cruz with the church Santa Cruz (closed)
and Palacio de Jabalquinto (also closed).
Plaza Santa Maria with the cathedral (separate post later)
Plaza del Pópulo
Some more impressions:

Baeza: Cathedral Santa Maria
Baeza had a roman catholic diocese until 1249. So the church is no longer a "real" cathedral.
