And why is that, offerendum?
(By the way, it was Mrs JohnRain who insisted, I was more inclined to go visit a body sushi place but... oh well)
Update: the next installment will be online on Wednesday

Caught up on reading the rest this weekend. Thanks again for sharing JohnRain. Between this TR, and the Spanish GP I couldn't have asked for anything more

Fortunately FT is still free but we can trade Tokyo addresses if you want...
The 2017 F1 season is indeed promising already. Just to be prepared, what's your favourite beer?
(I think you know mine already )

A dip into the pool to start the day.
My new breakfast strategy: start with the healthiest options...
...and work your way through the menu, one cholesterol layer after another.
Finally, the mango pancakes with crème fraîche to push you over the caloric edge.
You might want to rethink your soy comsumption.
Sakura part III.
Christo was here.
Tokyo National Art Center.
Someone's angry at her hairdresser.
Midtown.
The Ritz Carlton.
The Moët & Chandon Sakura pop-up bar.
Roppongi.
Mori Tower & Roppongi Hills.
Louise Bourgeois's giant spider sculpture, Maman.
I don't like sake but the bottles are quite beautiful, as shown here on display at the food section of a big department store.
A quick stop at the Pen Boutique to load up on some of the best pastries in town, just in case the Aman afternoon tea would prove to be disappointing.
Hello fluffy friend, I have a few of your cousins back home right next to my rubber duckies.
I've yet to stay at an Aman and the Tokyo property looks like a good way to start, but today it is Afternoon Tea only.
Someone must have told the pastry chef that Mrs JohnRain was coming today.
My idea of Afternoon Tea: a delicious steak sandwich.
Great views, lousy weather.
And a delicious dinner at Nobu to finish the day.
Mochi time!
Up Next: All Kobe is Wagyu, but not all Wagyu is Kobe.

Gorgeous pictures, esp from Aman and Nobu. I loved the Christo joke :-)
I've never seen a chocolate shoe. Is Afternoon Tea similar to British tea or is it a Japanese tea with non-Japanese savory and sweets?
How much time did you have Inbetween Aman and Nobu - I felt full just looking at the afternoon tea pictures :-)

JR: Thanks for the great pix of Cherry Blossoms. I've started searching for award flights for next year.
Love this: "Someone must have told the pastry chef that Mrs JohnRain was coming today." LOL.

Actually, may have been a smart move on your part to not start the Aman experience at Aman Tokyo. Bali Amans would server better as a starter

They have great chefs in Japan. 40 years ago I had the best Stroganoff at the Palace Hotel I believe it was called.
I want to go back to Japan. I was told to go in April for the Pinus Festival outside Tokyo that takes place on the first Saturday or Sunday of April and the Geisha Festivals in Kyoto. They show them on YouTube.
Your pictures make me want to go back.
