FRA US grilling!
Well got my first true grilling on US Airways for a FRA-PIT-IND 11-28-02 flight at 1155a.
They really when nuts when I said - yes I just arrived from Oman via Zurich at 1000a today.
Two ladies - the 'boss' of the two tried the old repeat questions later to make sure I would answer them again with the same response.
She gave me hassles for not having a printed itinerary - I said that is because it is an e-ticket and I thought it was paperless.
Anyway the 'new' US Airway employee got the unlucky task of digging through my heavily overpacked backpack (big one) and smaller backpack.
Fun stuff!

We encountered very, very serious initial security at FRA at Terminal 1 a few days ago. Although, it was as though someone had told the screeners to a) be mean and b) do a bunch of extra stuff that they didn't really care about. I saw a few screeners yelling at people who didn't understand German. Not a friendly place.

They said has my luggage been out of my control?
I answered: Well I just arrived from Muscat, Oman via Dubai, Zurich on Swiss Air.
That got the two ladies attention.
I was very vague and relaxed about answering the questions so that made them even more paranoid! Wished I had recorded the conversation.

Last November, I had a nice 15 minute interrogation by AA security. Its not unusual for me. My cousin had accompanied me to the airport and they made him remain far away from me during the questioning period. They were concerned he was coaching me.
I was also called in the boarding lounge and asked to identify a large heavy mass in my checked luggage. It was a glass coffee warmer thingie my aunt gave me.
In light of what happened in September, I appreciated the security agents were very patient with my answers and thorough. The fact they werewere fluent in english (this has been a problem in Italy) made it less aggravating. However, I found it strange that I had to produce my university staff identification as proof of employment. Next time, I'm just going to carry a photo album with a picture of my house, the family and pets, my voter id card, a pay stub, my past three years of tax receipts and my 1981 girl's state certificate.
However, I have noticed since that trip, I have only had one grilling. The rest have been more like sautees.

Well, for AMS-DTT NW 68 on Fri 22nd Nov FAA officials tested AMS security. This was seriously bad bad bad. Never been "patted" so closely. Shoes and socks off. Unpack bag entirely with contents inspected by three (!) people. 1 hour delay with boarding process. 747-400. Wow.
