Great thorough review. This seems more like a resort town... so if I wanted to experience more of the Spanish culture & food, would you recommend Mallorca or Barcelona?

I also have an infant who will be 8 months when I plan on visiting in October. Not sure if I should visit when she is older or go now.

Never been in Barcelona, only Madrid. I don't see any problems with an infant on Mallorca. You have many options to spend your time there

Yes, that happens;). In fact my car was also some Kind of upgrade as the navigation system and the automatic gear normally costs extra. In fact they have many small cars, especially German pensioneers Play the game: How many People can drive in a Nissan Micra (mickrig on German). I really saw some with 5 People inside. It´s great to have such a car (of course Basis engine, what else?) in front of you at a steep hill:mad::mad::mad:

Hotel breakfast at EU hotels put US hotels to shame. The breakfast buffet I had at the Sheraton a week ago wasn't that great and makes me long for for the great breakfasts I've had at hotels in EU and Asia. Great report!

Thanks! I had some grea buffets in the US but over all I agree. It´s funny they call it "American Breakfast Buffet" in Europe....

Great TR, I'm using it to plan my 4-day long weekend there!
Quick question for you, if you had to choose between the St regis and the Castillo Son Vida, for a couple to unwind/relax, which one would you go for?

St. Regis without any question, especially as the rooms got a renovation.

Just came back from a trip to Mallorca - we stayed in the Cap Rocat and really loved it (especially given that I have initially booked the Jumeirah - which cancelled our stay; then I booked the Belmond - which cancelled our stay; and then booked the St Regis - which of course cancelled our stay).

We can't wait to go back to the hotel. The setting is simply stunning and service was great - and the breakfasts in your suite overlooking the bay..... plus there weren't a lots of people due to Covid, only a few so-called/ self-proclaimed influencers who stayed there for a night....

I have good memories about my stay there. Stayed this March at the St. Regis and even with the renovated hardware Cap Rocat is nicer.
