You did but I forgot

Left the rad at 6.46 and in the DAA lounge at 7 on the dot with a nice brisk walk. Not the best lounge but functional!

Flight was uneventful and CC were very friendly. Breakfast was fine for the short hop over even if the bacon looked like leather! Tasty anyway

Transfer to T3 was easy and boarding passes all printed to LAX without hassle.

Currently sat in Admirals T3 chilling out with a cold beer before the 12.50 to JFK

Pics....

neat - I like the 77W over the pond.

- i'd dash tho to the Cathay lounge for pre-flight noodles rather than eat in the AA lounge

I will be staying at the Crowne Plaza LAX during my DUB-LIH run next week. Picked it because I could pay using IHG points and it's walkable from the airport (15-20 mins)
I had been told by an AAngel that any cab out of LAX would cost $25 minumum, but I kooed on the "citymapper" app and could book an Ubber for $7.

You can jump on one of the regular free shuttle busses that pass just outside the terminal. Go to the Red zones and wait. They come along every 15/20 mins.

Have you tried walking it before? I have and it taxed the usual CWS skill base, so I'd not recommend it from TBIT. Basically too many flyovers and there aren't pavements where you would expect them to be. (Always a bit ironic given California tries so hard to reduce carbon emissions and yet makes the scantest provision for pedestrians) . Maybe from T1 it's do-able. There are very regular shuttle buses there, I can't see you waiting 20 minutes but you need to be a bit assertive in waving them down, they also serve 2 other hotels nearby, so by the time you've read the list of hotels on the matrix display the shuttle would have pulled off.

It's not a bad hotel, British management, but it's not as well soundproofed as the hotels nearby, and I'd go to the Hilton because it's shuttle is sub 15 minutes in rotation.

The only airport hotel which is walkable (in my opinion) is the Concourse, which used to be the Radisson and is about to become a Hyatt..... Even then from TBIT late at night I'm not so sure about that one either.

That's what I did last month. It goes on a magical mystery tour first to another hotel.

Not sure if 25000 points for a night at the CP is worth it against paying 126 / $185ish?
(Must admit that I did that myself last month, couple of days out due to a change of plans, as it cost a little bit more cash wise and I got 2000 points back, 3 free breakfast coupons and 2 drinks coupons as my room wasn't ready at 11pm).

Very good info thanks. I did a google street view and TBH it seem a bit of a nightmare, and of course I am landing at the furthest terminal but I wasn't going to pay $25 to get to a hotel. I didnt know about the free shuttle buses. I wont be landing till after midnight, do they run all the time?
