Thank you for flying with a Chinese airline. I personally deem Air China the best one in soft, hard and hybrid service level.

Soft product is hit and miss - my friends recently flew MEL-PVG (well actually PEK due to irrops) on CA and later a flight from the US to BRU on UA - they FAR preferred UA, which came as a surprise to them! Their experience of CA was jaded however by absolutely awful customer service then their PVG flight was re-routed to PEK due to bad weather. Even as business pax they were given no assistance by CA to help them meet their next day flight out of PVG - they had to leave the airport and beg US (who had booked the award travel) to sort it out even though it should be under CA's control. Awful.
Flew SIN-PEK-JFK in C last December and the soft product was all over the place: SIN-PEK was outstanding with courteous and productive crew. Seat was nice as well. PEK-JFK was lacking in the fact that service was rushed and absent. Crew preferred to chat in the galley instead of serving pax.

Good report.

Curious - to whom do you sell your pictures, as a professional?
Have we seen your work outwith Flyertalk?

My OH flew SYD - PEK - LHR last week and very short summary:

Seat very good
No PJ's
Crew on both legs very rude and unhelpful
IFE screen good, but selection of English titles very poor
Lounge in PEK good, food in the lounge amazing, staff rude, showers not great

Great TR. Really nice pictures, and I can't help but think the cabin crew looks super friendly just from pictures!

That lounge at PEK is pretty amazing, but since it's so open it will get really hot there during the summer

I'm looking forward to flying an award flight on Air China IAH - PEK in business. Air China has a complimentary transfer service in Beijing for F,A,C,D,Z,J. Anyone had success using the transfer service on an I fare?

If you're referring to car service, award fare classes do not qualify, but taxis are cheap.
