You know, I have always wondered that if they did sub-divide the bins and put seat numbers on individual sections of the bin, exactly how much of each bin would each seat get? How would that change travel???

Overhead bins are shared space! There is not one singled out per row, or passenger. He needs to go back to his own sandbox.

If Mr Huffy is Dutch, I met him and Mrs Huffy on KLM back in March. I offered him space over my seat, but he insisted that the space over his seat was his. Unfortunately, I could not accomodate him because my bag didn't fit in the middle (767) bins. I finally told him to call an FA to sort it out. She rolled her eyes and told him something I couldn't understand. My bag stayed where it was.

Dear All,

My name is Mr. Huffy and I resent that all of you Elitists are ganging up on me. I had a bulkhead row, but was entitled to a first class upgrade due to my heritage and insanely great status.

I am a multi-million miler. If you fly with me, please abide by the following rules and you will not get harassed:

1. Do not make direct eye contact with me.
2. Do not take my storage bin. It is above me and it is MINE.
3. If I am in an aisle seat, do not try to get up during flight.
(if you have a weak bladder, drive a car!!!)
4. If I am in a window seat, get up immediately when asked!
5. Do not engage in petty conversation unless you are gorgeous.
6. Do not order the fish on longhaul flights. It stinks.
7. If you sit in front of me, do NOT put your seat back. You will be kneed.
8. If you have children, they better not speak or make noise.
9. If there is an empty row of seats; MOVE!

The guidelines are simple and have been developed over my many years of worldly travel. Don't forget them.

Yours truly,
Mr. Huffy

You're free to use any bin in your ticketed cabin. Don't sweat it.

As this is not really DL-specific, I am going to move this thread over to TravelBuzz. Please continue to follow there.

There was a book out a while back 'Winning Through Intimidation'. Obviously this jerk read it.

Don't beat yourself up over this. He's a jerk!

Nope you totally did the right thing. Bins are not assigned to anyone. There are common courtesy things that can be done to enable more folks to get all their stuff up there, but if you think that your seat = one bin, then you need to lay off whatever it is that you are smoking before boarding. Mr Huffy must have been huffing some good stuff as he knows better than that, just trying to take advantage of someone, very unbecoming. It is sad that no one ever tries that crap on me (maybe because I am somewhat intimidating looking) so I could elucidate them on the rules of the bins.

Mr. Huffy, welcome to Flyertalk. Although you sure remind me of a frequent poster to this forum. What's your first name?

Thanks for the welcome!!
Nope...I am new to the forum. Was trying to find an id and thought that Mr. Huffy was a good name. (real name is Steve - Platinum Delta)

On a more serious note, it is great to see everyone concur as to "Bin Ownership".
