Dogs in hotel
I was a guest at Hampton Inn in Fort Worth and much to my dismay there was a dog in the breakfast area. He was not a seeing eye dog but a very large bulldog. He was being held by the breakfast hostess when I arrived downstairs. I found that not a good practice

What do you have against dogs?

Personally I do not see a problem with dogs in hotels (including the breakfast room) as long as they are well behaved and "under control". Control can by by voice or leash. If you travel in France you will see a lot of dogs in trains, planes and hotels. What is the problem? |

I dont normally mind dogs but when they are around where food is being served that bothers me. Not to mention on more than one occassion she put the dog down and placed out back out of the breakfast bar. I didnt see her wash her hands or have gloves on.

Dog dander in the muffin basket. Yuck. A lot of people have allergies. (This kind of thing would absolutely ruin my wife's day.) I would invoke the 100% satisfaction guarantee in a case like this.

I was staying at the Drake in Chicago one time, and while I was waiting in the lobby for my colleague to come down, this guy walks out of the elevator with a large English bulldog on a leash. It was very cute, and I thought it was kind of cool to see that in an "upscale" hotel. But I agree that things would be different if the dog was brought into an eating area and was being handled by the service staff.

I didn't see anyone asks this, but..... Did you ask why the dog was there??? Was the breakfast hostess actually holding/handling in the actual breakfast area near the food or tables? Did you see here handle the dog, then handle food/food prep items/utensils/without washing her hands? |

Be sure that it does not fall under this category. If the dog DID.....the hotel would be breaking the law by not allowing it near the owner. There is no certain breed that performs these functions. |
