If you're annoyed by dogs in the restaurant, you may want to avoid the Peabody hotel chain :)

You've made it clear you don't have any children of your own. Good choice.

Oh how very droll

How is it clear that I don't have children? Just because I'm frustrated and fed up with unruly brats and bad parents?! If you think it's all right for kids to do all that nasty crap, then I (and a whole Hell of a lot of other people, I'm sure) certainly hope YOU don't have any children, either.

Was staying at a Quality Inn (I think) in Sandusky, OH years ago. Woke up to a single deep "WOOF" of a German Shepherd. Jumped out of bed thinking it was MY shepherd wanting to go out - took me a few seconds to figure out where I was and that my dog was not there. When heading out to my car I saw 10-12 police cars, all K-9 units, from various cities in OH. Other than the single bark I would have never known there were dogs there. Guess it was a well guarded hotel.

Personally I'd MUCH rather have a dog around in the breakfast room than a typically annoying young child any day!

Children below like age 8 or 9 shouldn't be allowed out in public.

Dogs are WAY more sanitary than most children.

Sure, ban pets from all public places but ban young children first. They are way more of a problem all around.

If I'm expected to put up with them, folks are going to have to tolerate my pets who are cleaner, quieter, and generally more pleasant to be around.

For the most part, pets impose a hell of a lot less than a vast majority of young children. No question about it.

People in this country have to grow out of this sick and twisted child-fetish they seem to have. It's perverse.

A mate of mine and I were walking through some shops and chatting as blokes do when a man chastised me saying, "watch your mouth, my kids are here!". To which I replied, "This is a public place, I'm not going to censor myself just because you happen to have your spawn nearby. Go f*** yourself..."

Actually I have 4. They're all grown up but I can't be sure they wouldn't put a booger on your muffin.

Wrong of me to assume you have no children. I must have read too much into your posts.

Actually, you're right - I don't have children. ^

But if I did they'd be kept in line, not like all the coddled demon-spawn I see today.

We travel with our dog-he's been to Europe many times, and we often take him on road trips and stay in hotels.

I think the OP has a valid complaint. In the USA, dogs don't belong in a indoor breakfast area, and the hotel shouldn't have allowed it to happen.

Folks who travel with pets should follow the rules. And those that don't want to be near them should go elsewhere.

Now that Florida is a no smoking state we think they should turn those smoking sections into no children sections. We had dinner at a very pricey place in Mystic last week and the dinner was ruined because of a screaming two year old in the room. You could hear the parents bribe him, then the we won't go to the park if you don't stop to the point where they took turns taking him in and out. I have show dogs and therapy dogs that are so well behaved, smell great also. A man changed his little girl in the seat in front ofme last week on the plane and it smelt the plane up for 15 minutes, what is wrong with people? She was at least two so it wasn't a small load...I know the bathrooms are small but think they could have done that in there instead of in their seat.
