+1. I do the same thing myself, I have my right hand on the skin of the aircraft as I step on. honestly, not sure when it started but it has been well over a decade.

Store stuff in the overhead which, hopefully has room and that some bin hog who made that major effort to get in front of all the other First passengers, isn't sitting next to me.
