<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size="2">I also was told on another board that Matthew Broderick is leaving the show in November and not April but I don't know how reliable that is.

Nathan Lane has indicated he would probably leave after the one year is up, but would consider returning to the show at a future point.
I was lucky enough to snag a single ticket for July so I should see the two originals.

Thanks for the link! I checked it out, though, and the program for The Producers isn't available there (yet?). If I'm not able to get the program from someone here, I will keep my eye on this site.

If what you're looking for is just the free Playbill that they hand out at performances in New York, I have an extra that you are welcome to. Let me know if you want it and I'll mail it out tomorrow.
I thought the show was hilarious. We were told that tickets were being scalped for $300 and more in mid-May while we were there. We bought our $90 tickets before the show opened and could see very well from the front of the balcony. To Mr. Westcoaster's dismay, I'm still singing some of the songs.

Just want to say that this is one of the kinds of thread that makes FT such a great place: sharing info and helping each other out (maybe I should write a Broadway musical ...)
I have tickets for late September so I'm crossing my fingers for Matthew Broderick!

If I'm not mistaken, I was able to get a Playbill in Chicago, but no show program. I will double-check when I go home this weekend. If I need the Playbill, I will definitely take you up on your offer, westcoaster, thanks!
blairvanhorn: I hope you get to see Matthew Broderick too but I actually think it'd be interesting to see Martin Short play the Leo Bloom role. I think the reason Nathan Lane got the Tony over Broderick is that (at least when I saw the show) Broderick tried a little too hard to be just like Gene Wilder. Now, Martin Short would probably have a brilliant scene with the blue blanket.
(I figure it's not obvious to anyone what a huge fan I am of the movie, is it?
)

Checking availability with telecharge, using the 'best available' link on 'any performance from (today) onwards', there seems to be availability in November 2001 at $30, $35, $40 and $45 (plus charges).
OK, they're balcony seats, but nowhere near the $100 mentioned elsewhere.
Of course, if you wany orchestra or mezzanine (at $100), you'll be lucky to get seats before March 2002 - and my wife's birthday in April is already full, with or without Lane and Broderick.

Martin Short will not be playing Bloom on Broadway -- maybe in the LA company. Roger Bart will be replacing Broderick during his absence. Bart is currently playing "Carmen Ghia" in the show, and was nominated for a supporting actor tony in that role. Check it out at Broadway.com/news
