Does ANYONE ever take a bath in a hotel ?
I took a shower tonight.
In a new Fancy Dan designer hotel; rainforest shower with hose attachments to cleanse every nook and cranny of the human body.
A vast array of designer cleansing lotions all with ampersands in their name.
And a granny shower cap on offer as well if I needed one.
But I still had to clamber into a stupid tub and try to maintain my balance while the water soaked the rest of the bathroom.
And I'm thinking - why do they bother ? In decades of travel and hundreds of hotel rooms I've never taken a bath.
Why not just have a walk-in shower like every adult person I know has in their bathroom ?

It is far from uncommon in our family for the tub to be used. And we definitely don't have a stand-up shower stall at home.
As for water not staying in the tub area, that's usually more an issue of some countries are less likely to have a full curtain, not an indictment of the fact that a tub is an abomination.

I have never taken a bath in a hotel. I have used a hot tub in an upgraded room for relaxation a handful of times. One limiting factor for me is that the tub needs to be pretty large or I don't fit comfortably. Not to the point that I find it relaxing, anyway. I find nothing enjoyable about sitting half-submerged in water with my knees up to my chin because I can't stretch my legs out. Bathtubs are good for washing babies.

I usually take a bath. If I am in a hurry, then I might shower instead. Otherwise, I may well read a bit of a newspaper or something while in the bathtub. Very relaxing.

When I have a hotel room with a marvelous bathtub, how can I not use it?
