Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Nobody else should care.

to Hawaii? Sure. it's fine. Heck, jeans are fine in F to anyplace in the world on any airline. just go read the trip reports and see what people are wearing in the F cabins and in the F lounges around the world. Plenty of jeans.

Are jeans the MOST comfortable thing to wear? Maybe not. But they are common.

Unfortunately (IMHO), the days of dressing at least moderately well (let alone getting dressed up like in ye olden days) for F travel are long gone. You'll see about anything. To Hawaii, "business casual" would have you in the top 25% of dress and jeans/t-shirt wouldn't draw a second look. Shorts/t-shirts probably wouldn't draw a second look.

My F "wardrobe" has run the gamut from a football jersey and jeans (when flying to attend a football game) to a suit and tie (when flying directly to a meeting).

Seems a consensus is forming around "do what makes you feel comfortable." I'd concur with that.

Look at what this guy is wearing at the airport.
Granted, he wasn't flying US F, but still

Just wear what you would normally wear in the Y cabin. The only dress code in F is for employees, non-revs, and the like.

Nothing wrong with dressing casual in F on US Airways. I wore jeans and a US Soccer jersey on a flight from MEX - PHX once and didn't ever feel out of place.

If anyone has flown on those 1st class can you tell me about your experience with those flights?
you would not believe what I have seen in FC. in days gone by it was coat and tie when I first started traveling for business now it's anything goes ( more or less) with no real decorum. whats really bad is upgraded babies crying and smelly diapers. When my kids were younger they traveled right behind FC where we could see them, and frankly I thing they had a better time.

Flew SQ F SIN-CDG few months ago. Didn't shower for 2 days beforehand, didn't shave for a week, wore track jacket, jeans, and hiking shoes. The first thing I heard when boarding the plane was: "Welcome, Mr. BigRedBears. You are the only passenger in F today. We will spoil you rotten"

Morale of the story: don't worry about what you wear. Just be comfortable.

Yep, wear what you're comfortable in, especially to Hawaii. You'll even fit right in with shorts and a casual shirt in some of the nicer restaurants there! And most importantly, have fun!

No dress code, but when I fly (regardless of where I'm sitting) I always wear closed-toe and heel shoes, long trousers and a long-sleeve shirt. I have my passport & a credit card in my breast pocket in the shirt, and my phone in my trouser pocket. I know it's highly unlikely, but if I find myself having to evacuate the plane in an emergency, I'm good to go.

Given kids can wear dirty diapers and the parents declare
they will not change until after landing... it would seem one
can wear pretty much anything but don't try to board with
nothing on.

Was this this 49th response yet?
