alarm clock on wrong side of bed

Ok, not sure if this is a strange pet peeve or not. How many people move the alarm clock in the hotel to the other side of the bed? I sleep on the right side and always move it to the right side unless it is against the wall. Not sure if I am totally crazy or not. What Items in the room do you move?

Mine was set two hours ahead, and I didn't notice it last night. I woke up and thought the alarm didn't go off, rushed through my shower and got out to my car...

To see the correct time on the clock.

Oh, well. Had a very leisurely breakfast and got some paperwork done.

I travel with a small alarm clock set on the correct time (which also has a push-to-illuminate button and a temperature display). The "wrong side" for me might be the "right side" for you.

I actually like it when the clock is on the "wrong" side of the bed. I imagine many people choose sides based on the proximity to the alarm clock, which means that the non-alarm clock side may be less slept on. So I like the side that doesn't have the alarm clock!

Personally, I turn the clock to the wall or away from the bed. All too often it's set to the wrong time and I'm not going to hunt to find how to set it and the alarm. I find my cell phone to be more than adequate for my needs. If it can't wake me, I really don't want to wake up that early. Mind you if I have a flight I'm usually awake hours early anyways.

(bolding mine)
I used to be one of those people. Now I plug in my phone on the side with easy access to an outlet and sleep on that side.

I often use the clock-radio as mp3 speakers, so I like to have it near me; on occasion there's a bit of juggling it and the lamp and/or phone. At the Tropicana, the clock-radio was on a shelf underneath , and moving it up on top of the night table was a bit of an effort. Moving it to the other side of the bed is can sometimes be nearly impossible if the outlet is buried deep behind the bed.

I leave it where it is.

I haven't figured out how to set the time correctly on what seems to be the group standard clock, so just add ~7 hours to whatever it is showing as the wake up time.

Possibly my most useless post yet. Thanks for the opportunity .

You need a small screwdriver to change the time on the standard Hilton clocks - the time settings are hidden underneath a panel.

I believe it's the panel with the holes for the 5 audio control buttons (e.g. rock, pop, mp3 etc...) and it's locked in place by a small screw.

Handily though - you'll often find someone has removed the screw so the buttons are easily accessible. I like this as I'm a little OCD about clocks not set to the correct time...

This. I never rely upon a hotel clock for the time or alarm.

As for which side I sleep on that depends upon which is more easily accessible.

One of the first things I do when I check in is unplug the damned alarm clock. I never use it and the only thing that can happen is that it goes off in the middle of the night based on the last person's usage.

They have alarm clocks in the rooms?

I thought that was what our smart phones were for?

I have been known, in rooms with jacuzzi tubs especially, to bring the clock into the bathroom so that I could listen to my book while soaking.

I like that hilton has the same clock in every property (baring the Hampton clock) and I know how to work it.

I stayed at the Marquette hotel in MSP for easy access to the skyway and my room didn't even have an alarm clock. I know it isn't a Hilton, but it is "a Hilton hotel" so you think it would have one.
