I hate seatback touchscreen LCDs
While I certainly appreciate the entertainment value, I just endured a TATL flight in Y (UA51, 777) where the guy behind me did not know the difference between touching and poking. - Eight very long hours.
Nothing to be done. No request honored. Even the instructions from the FA who saw me being jolted around were to no avail. No other seat available.
Airlines (all of you). Please use non-touch screen LCDs in the seat backs. You are keeping the remotes for games anyway. Make this the mode of entry.

This is certainly a benefit of E+ as it precludes all but those with the longest arms from doing this
Has anyone noticed more peaceful journeys on (exclusively touch screen in Y) transatlantic 757 flights yet since they were all converted?

As the OP has directed this suggestion to "all airlines," I will move this non-UA specific thread to the TravelBuzz! Forum.

On one airline (Delta) I found that the touch screens worked much better when I clicked them with the back of my fingernail compared with pushing with my fingerprint (often the latter did not work the first time every time).

I prefer the screen controls to also be located in the seatback. If not, I actually prefer touchscreens to remotes embedded in the arm rests. The problem with such remotes is that sometimes my leg accidentally pushes a button and my video is disrupted.

I prefer touch screen vs controller inthe armrest. As a big guy it is hard to get the controller out and when out it gets tangled up with headphone, seatbelt, etc.

I have absolutely found this to be the case of DL. It seems to register the "sharp impact" of the fingernail better than the jolting of the finger. For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure DL has a reminder in their magazine to tap lightly...
