Interesting thread. After reading it all I think it can be unequivocally stated that…
1) The OP adhered to the carry on allowance as stated by Delta. 2) The FA was out of line and rude (unless it was a joke). 3) People who are fed up with those who bring their whole house as a carry-on (in other words, break the rules) tend to lash out at people even when they are innocent of that “crime”. 4) Those who think the OP didn’t have the right to a laptop personal item because the AVOD took away the space for one also must, by definition, believe that bulkhead passengers also have no right to a personal item. Of course that opinion is ridiculous and everyone is entitled to the same carry-on allowance (with exceptions for class of service and/or status in certain cases) no matter where they are seated on the plane. If Delta has taken away the personal item space for a number of seats then the passengers in those seats get to put their personal item up top along with their carry on. Period. 5) Many people have to travel with a laptop and the smart ones (or those who value their backs) choose to put them in a rolling case. This does not, in any way shape or form, disqualify it from being a laptop personal item. 6) The people in the Delta forum just might surpass those in TravelBuzz for irrational blaming of an OP. |
