Wow, that is a huge list. Why so many? I suggest narrowing it down a little by reading about the schools, evaluating the departments you are interested in, and talking to professors, and then visiting a few of your top choices. If you try to visit so many schools, you are just going to burn yourself out and not be able to focus on learning about them.

Well i really hate when its cold the worst i agree with is maybe dc weather.
Also i really gwu however the financial aid while really good is not as good as the other schools on my list .For instance uva and vanderbilt promise 100% need based in fact i don't have income at the moment so those schools will be free for me and they would give me money to even get housing and buy foo. While gwu at best can offer up to the tution(still amazing but comparing to my other selections...)

Are you applying for fall 2012? If so, visiting the colleges in May is WAY too late. Having been through this process with my own college students, IMHO, you need to:
1. Decide what you want to major in (yes, this might change, but you need to focus your search to colleges that have what you want to study)
2. Find the schools that provide the best program for your chosen major
3. Apply to some schools you know you will get into and some schools that are a "reach." Each application can cost up to $100 so applying to all of the schools on your original list could end up being quite expensive.
4. Wait to hear which colleges accept you
5. File your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and have it sent to the schools you've been accepted to. ALL schools require the FAFSA to determine how much financial aid they will give you.
6. Once you start hearing from colleges about what financial aid they'll give you, you can determine which ones you can truly afford to attend. It is absolutely true that when schools say they will fulfill all of your financial aid need, part of what they will provide are loans. So you need to know how much debt you can handle upon graduation.
7. Determine which schools you want to visit and make your plan to do so, asking on this forum if you want help with the travel portion
I'm sorry to have to say that if you are applying for the fall 2012, you're late to the game! If you're applying for fall 2013, congratulations for planning so far ahead!
Good luck!

Bard College, Boston University, George Washington University, University of Chicago(high high reach), University of Miami, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, , University of Rochester, University of Virginia, Vanderbilt University
These are the schools i will must likely get into .I also applied for 4 suny state schools which makes this even more difficult. My issue is i am in spain right now and i have hardly any vacation time even if i could afford the money to go to the usa.I dont know why but the people on this forum are way more helpful and friendly then other forums i know.My only option is to stay in the usa after my cheap flight...
Problem is some schools make a decision around may first and i would have around 3 weeks to accept...
what does everyone else think? also would it be really horrible if i would have to decide without going to the schools?
p.s
my college gpa is a 3.76(59 credits) with decent ecs if anyone is into college admissions and such

If you plan to study in a good university, you should work on your English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and capitalization. What you've posted here would get a very low grade and an admissions applicaiton essay of this sort would almost surely lead to rejection.

Transfer application (common app) is due around march 1st and the documents must be sent by march 15th for most schools btw. I am considered independent for 80% of the schools (I am 24 years old) some of my schools have a no loan policy .I have been researching it for a long time.
1. I would like to study international business and perhaps linguistics and some languges(can speak japanese and spanish and hebrew right now)
2. I think i did a pretty good job at that altough some schools might not be in the top 20 of the specific major
3. I got fee waivers for all of the schools
4. Yes i will wait (:
5. Sent the fafsa long time ago
6. Some schools will include loans(up to 4k max or so) and some have a no loan policy .(called schools double checked)
7. Thats my problem so i decided to try to find a cheap ticket around may 6th and if i get accepted just go to those schools
A:I already applied for fall 2012(fall next year) I also sent in all of my documents(almost)
B:Please do pm me if you have some advice .I think the people are this forum are very smart and very helpful and friendly .Perhaps if you have some feedback on the schools on my list?
c:I should also mention i am currently studying abroad in spain .In addition i have a small question i made a pretty wacky project for class and i was wondering if i should sent it to some of the "wackier" schools in my list such as u chicago which is known for that.
d:Clearly being in spain i am taking spanish. To be excact i am taking 12 intensive spanish credits(any more and i will have too many credits to be considered for application for 1 or 2 schools on my list). Its 2 6 credit classes.
Also i am using a spanish keyboard so there are somethings i cant do with this keyboard as you may have noticed.
f:About my essays i always proof the grammer and such and i am also originaly israeli so my english will never be the same... Altough i am considered a native speaker.

Back when I attended my 1st graduate school in the States, I didn't pay a visit to any of the school. Internet wasn't as popular and I didn't have the means to make a trip for campus visit. However, I was extremely happy for my choice of school in the States when I started and eventually graduate from the program.
How did I do it? I did my homework. Without leaving my home country, I spent tons of time, going to library and collecting info on schools that I was interested in. I talked to my professors who got their degree in the U.S. so I could learn from their experience and asked for good advice from them. I narrowed down my application pool of schools for application, based on my preference of the curricula, school location/climate/ranking, and mostly importantly, my budget.
I didn't assume I'd be accepted by all of the schools. After receiving the acceptance letters from a number of fine schools, I asked around and tried to find their alumni in my city so I may talk to them and see what they had to say about their schools. Then I made my commitment to the school that I am very appreciative and fond of up till today.
Tuition is different from fees. Tuition is getting more and more expensive in the States now. One thing you have to know is that every school is having budget cut and doesn't offer as good a financial package to all students no more. Scholarships is the best bet. All other form of financial assistance may not be as reliable. You may be able to work on campus if you are eligible. Ask each school for their policies.
Also, I say you have to develop a more reasonable and manageable plan if you want to pay campus visits before attending.
Good luck.

Hello just to clarify i am a new york state resident. In addition i specificly applied to schools which take care of full need (90% of them) also 90% of them are need blind.I also should mention once again a few of them have a no loan policy in addition to the promise of taking care of full need.Meaning i can afford those schools way better then the instate safeties i have.I understand the confusion .Also i have been studying in the usa for 1.5 years now.

Not enough time. They're in five different cities. You didn't say what city you're flying in and out of, but pick your top three schools.
