EWR-SFO-NRT-SIN-(6 hours in SIN)-NRT-LAX-JFK All in a comfy coach seat. :)
Left EWR at 6am on a Tuesday, got back to JFK at 6pm on a Thursday. Total travel time: 60 hours. But, 20,000 EQM's and 60,000 RDM's for just $650 (November, 2001) |
I just completed YHZ-YUL-YVR-ICN-ULN which came to a total of just under 29 hours (5 hour connectin in ICN). All in J except for ICN-ULN. On top of that I had about 6 hours between the last flight and a 1.5 hour charter the next morning, but went to a hotel for 4 hours sleep.
Two weeks ago I did YHZ-LHR-SIN-PER return with three nights in between (plus two x 2 hour charter flights in between, all in Y (except the return LHR-YHZ), which were 29 and 32 hours respectively. |
I have an upcoming trip JFK-FRA-ZRH-JNB-MRU. I depart on the JFK-FRA leg on Dec. 26th and won't see a bed until I land in Joburg to overnight on Dec. 28th. Thankfully it's SQ F (JFK-FRA) connecting to LX J (FRA-ZRH) to LX F (ZRH-JNB), so perhaps I will get some rest while aloft.

SFO-LAX-JFK-CDG-MAA-BOM. Left SFO 6:30am Pacific/7pm India, arrived BOM 11am two days later, so 40 hours? all in Y. and at the age of 15. alone.
was supposed to be SFO-ICN-BOM but KE ICN-BOM got canceled and since I had redeemed SkyMiles, I was switched to Song/DL/AF SFO-JFK-CDG-BOM. SFO-JFK flight got canceled, so went SFO-LAX-JFK. CDG-BOM flight got canceled, so went CDG-MAA. Landed 3am, took the 9am 9W MAA-BOM flight. As for driving? ATL to CHI, via NJ.

Paging hunttk, who in July flew HKG-IST-LAX-IST-HKG-IST-LAX-IST-HKG-IST-LAX-IST-HKG-IST-LAX, with one night in a hotel in IST. I should know because I booked the same trip with him until sanity prevailed and I canceled the whole thing when I realized it would be almost 2 straight weeks of flying! And actually, hunttk's trip might have been even longer because I can't remember if he overnighted in HKG after his positioning flight or in LAX before returning to YYZ.

How about Lucky's six transpacs in five days? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...s-help-me.html Do that in the back of the bus and then we will be impressed. Most minors don't have Daddy's money to spend on mileage runs. @:-) :p |

Slightly off topic, but I saw someone mention it. I did what I called "The Cannonball Run" over Memorial Day weekend a few years ago. Enterprise had those 9.99 unlimited car rentals, and we had 3 days, and my goal was to see how many miles we could put on it. Drove from Texas to Mt. Rushmore, across North Dakota, up to Canada, over to Minnesota, over to Chicago, down to St. Louis and back in about 66 hours - no hotel, all in the car, no stopping (one person slept while the other drove). I enjoyed returning the $40 dollar rental car with about 3500 extra miles on it. That was fun.
Love reading your stories of airplane flights.. I'm hoping to start the flying portion of my life before long as my wife doesn't like to drive.. which is why I'm here, to learn your lingo and all about your secrets in life.. |
Mine was YVR AC SEA (6hours wait) AS LAX (3 HOURS) CX HKG (14HOURS DAY) CX MEL (3HOURS) QF SYD ALL IN Y/CL
|
I suspect I may unintentionally have one of these soon. I'm booked to fly LHR-SIN-MEL starting tomorrow (second leg on QF) but could get rerouted all over the bloody place due to the QF strike.

I was kind of proud of my longest trip until I read some of the stories in this thread...
Anyway, it was pretty straight forward ARN-BKK-AKL, 36 hours including a 12 hour daytime connection in BKK. It was all in Y though, so no sleep on the planes. An on arrival at AKL I picked up a car and drove for five hours to New Plymouth on the "wrong" side of the road - glad I didn't fall asleep at the wheel. |
