United sort of does this - If you want a low zone number on your boarding pass, pick a window in the back. Aisle in the front and you'll be in zone 4.

This would seem logical..

Many people have a beef with this?

Not me, but I'm a "window person."

I suppose "aisle people" are annoyed that by the time they board all the overhead bin space is gone.

Again, though, I do think the airline could do a better job of explaining *why* someone is in zone 4 or 5, so the next time they could pick a window to get zone 2 or 3 so they could get some bin space...

I've only had overhead bin space go on me once.. we ended up gate checking the carry-ons..

Worked out better.^

I've been on several flights where I couldn't understand most of what the FA was announcing because his/her accent was so thick. No big deal if the announcement is something about the peanuts about to be served. Big deal if the announcement is we're about to make an emergency landing and here is what you need to do....

When you are in a different country, that's how they speak English and YOU are the one with an accent. It's ridiculous to expect American accent, even if you are flying an American carrier from that country.

I think the person to whom Ko Ko was responding, was referring to thickly accented English in the US, that cannot be understood by someone also from the US - not overseas.
