When we went to Tahiti we flew to Morea...it was weird to be looking from one airport to the one you were going to be flying too.

The 20 mile, 6 minute flight above was on a regional. My shortest on a big jet was ORD-MKE, 67 miles.

The Westray flight is still the shortest in the world - WRY-PPW - great circle mapper says it's 1 mile. Typically 2-3 minutes, once accomplished in 58 seconds.

WN Flight MCI-STL. 45-50 min flight time, just barely enough for drink service.

YVR-YCD is often a few minutes quicker.

Air Canada operates an Embraer 190 YVR-YYJ-YVR daily. 39 Miles, roughly 20 minutes off to on.

That's a really

once,

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trave...light=shortest

or twice,

Now, that would be just swell!

HNL-LIH and HNL-OGG: both segments are 18 min. long on HA 717s that have standard beverage service with plenty of time to spare from the most skilled FAs that will put other carriers to shame.

The shortest scheduled flight is Westray to Papa Westray (WRY-PPW). The distance is 1 mile and the flight time is 1-2 minutes (see post 17).

My shortest flight (on a jet!) was LGW-LCY with JY when IRROPS meant combining BHD-LGW with BHD-LCY.

Shortest I've flown commercially (same plane) YYJ-YVR-YDT/Boundary Bay on the defunct (and scary) Skylink. The YVR-YDT segment is 11 miles

A number of carriers like QK/AC Jazz have operated YBL-YQQ-YVR (YBL-YQQ 24 miles)

Mine is just LAX to SNA (or vice versa, can't remember anymore).

I actually didn't think about how ridiculously short it was until I was sitting on the plane.

Rome

Many of you may not believe this-I was on my way to Milan via Rome and when I arrived at the Rome airport (several years back), there was a general strike at the airport. After hours of delay, my flight took off while people were still standing. It landed within 10 minutes in an airfield and straange people were carrying big 20 gallon cans of fuel to the plane. We took off again and eventually landed in Milan.

According to my FlightMemory, it's Tahiti (PPT) to Moorea (MOZ). 15 miles, 10 minutes. Followed by HNL-OGG (and back - 101 miles), MOZ-BOB (149 miles), and BOB-PPT (162 miles).

mine is probably EFD-IAH and IAH-EFD.

I loved EFD airport. Parking was free. And the gate was like a short walk from the parking lot.
