About to board ORD-PEK on AA. Only 9/14 in F, 8 of us in C (out of 35), and just over 100/194 in Y.
This is definitely the lightest intl flight I've ever taken. |
All by myself on a Saab 340 FAT-VIS

This is definitely the lightest intl flight I've ever taken. 1/14 in F, 4/35 in C, maybe 80 in Y. They let the guy from F sit with his gf who was in Y in C and closed off the F cabin. |
A few years back I was flying Delta EWR-ATL to connect to a flight to Santiago, Chile (SCL). The flight was delayed and I was concerned about my connection. When I asked if there were other people onboard connecting to SCL, the FA said something like, "There are 8 people on this flight. I doubt a great many are heading to Chile."

Reminds me of a AA 777 I flew JFK-LHR on New Year's Eve, 2005.

At Desert Storm's outset. The return flight, a couple of days after the pilot on the outbound BOS-SFO flight (and all the networks) announced that SCUD missiles had landed in Tel Aviv.

Very late 1980's Eastern Airlines flight SEA_CLT on a DC-10. Less than 10 people in Y. I remember picking out5 an entire middle row of 5 seats, lifting the armrests and turning the row into a bed. Slept very well on that redeye.
Also the only Eastern flight I ever took. I was supposed to be on a UA flight that was cancelled in SEA due to weather in SEA. It was a clear, calm night in SEA. Just one of my UA issues, and not the first. Eastern was glad to take the ticket. |
Me and one other..
Flying to DSM from PHX on the last flight of the day with a business associate.. We were the only non crew on the plane. US Air obviously needed the plane in DSM for the morning flight back to PHX.

Back in the late 80's and early 90's I used to fly to Stockton, CA a lot. The United Express (or whatever they called themselves in those days) from SFO to SCK rarely had more than 5 or 6 people. At least three times that I remember there was just me and another person.

Does it count if it was a flight with about 25 seats and seven passengers? Then EWR-BUF (for a bus to Toronto), Dash-8, NYD 2009.
|
Another story of an empty flight.
BOS-EWR. The flight I was on was delayed and everyone was rebooked to the following flight which departed an hour later. I missed that flight, and ended up on my original flight which was delayed 90 minutes. There were 3 passengers. Ended up sitting in F. |
LHR to BKK in Summer. In Y everyone had at least one row to selves. Great to spread out and sleep.

Not exactly empty, but in the business class cabin in Air New Zealand from Sydney to Auckland, there were 3 people including me in Business.
No wonder there were Star Alliance Saver (well that's not the real name, but I'll just call it that) via ANA Mileage Club award tickets then! |
I was the FO on a Saab340 flight from MSL to TUP when I had 1 pax. I actually used his name in the PA.
