BTW, the empty flights are a little creepy. I remember reading a few years ago about people that have premonitions of accidents on their scheduled flights and choose to cancel. Always creeps me out when I get on a half full plane.

Nah that was just that utterly crappy 'Final Destination' movie. They use the same plot for everyone of the sequels as well.

A trans-Pacific flight on a 747-400, I was the only passenger. 12 hours of silence was kind of strange.

That would have been an odd flight! Was it an aircraft being shuttled to or from a maintenance base?

the Saturday morning after 9/11 , at Heathrow with 10-20,000 of my closest friends stuck there, this was the first day flights to the USA were permitted.

the LHR to Newark flight had less than 20 people on it, pretty much the same Newark to Denver and Denver to LAX

I kept up on changing my reservation but it seemed no one else did, and United did not go looking for PAX.....

This year on Saturday 12/17, a DL DC-9-50 from MKE to DTW had 15 people on it. I stood by my seat in 3A staring at the back of the plane and the FA asked me if I was looking for someone. I said "no, I've just never seen a plane so empty"

PIT-MBS on US about 9 yrs ago. (back when they flew the route).

Just myself & crew on a larger prop plane. No wonder they don't fly that route anymore.

In Winter 1996 & 1997, I have flown on 747 TWA flights JFK-Europe where there were a handful of people on the flight. Lots of middle rows to choose from for sleeping. ;)

A TUL-ORD Sunday Night Super 80 flight it was about 55% full. I am sure I have been on emptier flights before but I don't remember.

March 18, 2009: 3 pax on a HA Boeing 717 KOA-HNL

Interisland Hawaii flight 10:48P-11:30P. Managed to pick the only window seat without a window. Switched to the row behind me and stretched out over all three seats in the row.

28 people?! That would have been a quiet flight! Did they upgrade anybody to C or F?

A flight from SFO-SAN on a UA A319. I was flying home from maui with my parents and we got to our gate and almost thought our flight had been canceled because no one was there. When we boarded we found out we were the only three on the flight. And the FA refused to let us sit in first class or even economy +

NW flight from DTW to ORD in August 1991. I was the only passenger. I arrived earlier than anticipated from SEA and walked on to this flight. My mom had to haul you know what to get to the airport to get me, since I was due to arrive into ORD later.

I was 15 and traveling alone from ANC. My grandfather was about to pass away and I had to leave ANC earlier than anticipated. My dad bought a ticket with his military discount that was flexible in the event I needed to change my return from the original return date at the end of August to fly back to ORF.

I'm only 22 now, but when I was young, around 9 or so, I remember flying CO IAH-MSY and the FAs said that a bunch of people had to move up to B/F since there were too many coach passengers and the plane's weight was unevenly distributed. There were only around 30 of us on the 737, I believe.
