Actually I was just reminded of a SR flight a A320 ZRH-IST a day or two after the 1999 Izmit earthquake. there was me in Biz and two rescue workers in Y. That was it.

I flew from the Seychelles to Mauritius once in F. i was the only passenger on a Boeing 707, don't remember the model. I had very good service.

Probably about 7-8 years ago, flew a DL 767-400 from ATL to TPA. It was the last flight of the night and the plane was probably needed the next morning. Maybe 20 people on the flight. Was weird to see all those sea of seats.

Delta, DFW to BOS, 7 people. Everyone spread out, chatted, and got some sleep on that flight. The FA's were great. Granted, this was in 1998.

12 people on a DL 767 CDG to SLC
Very, very off season :)

December 30, 1999 San Francisco to Sydney on United

27 of us + Crew on the 747, it was great!

Remember how everyone was afraid the planes were going to fall out of the sky on 01/01/00 because of some kind of computer problems.

Right after 9/11 I was on a Southwest flight from SNA to Oakland with a business associate. There were two other people on the flight, one of whom I used to work with at another company.

It was probably the last flight I had on Southwest that used the set of faceing seats. The four of us settled into one of those sets of seats and played cards. Southwest opened the bar for us (how much can four people drink on an hour flight?) and one of the FAs took a seat across the asile from us and joined the conversation.

Early 70s on a widebody redeye from HNL-LAX. (Maybe United? - The Great, Wide Way to the Mainland!) About 15 pax and the crew. They asked us all to come sit up front so they wouldn't have to walk. Played pinochle with another squid and a couple of FAs most of the way. Details fail me...too many Primos before the flight...

May, 1979, British Airways' 747-136, JFK-Kingston, approx. 10 passengers.

(This aircraft, en route from London to Bermuda, had diverted previous day due to engine having to be shut down. JFK chosen for engineering reasons. Most passengers re-ticketed on other airlines e.g., JFK to Bermuda on Eastern).

I was on a plane from Schipol to Malpensa with Alitalia-KLM/Airfrance with 6 PAX including myself.
They told me that the plane had to go for various reasons:-
1.Cargo
2.In order to keep the take-off slot
3.To move the plane AND
4.If they dont fly due to lack of PAX then they get a bad name?????

It was in 2007 Dec 27ish

It was rather odd being in a nearly empty aircraft for the duration of the entire flight. No one else was seated within 6 or 7 rows of us.

It got me thinking, what's the emptiest flight you've ever been on? It seems like lately it's become the standard to just cancel severely underbooked flights and reshuffle the passengers to other flights, so empty flights like this are becoming a rarity. Does anyone have any unique experiences regarding flights like this?

MKE to EWR on a Midwest Express regional jet. Me and 2 others on board. Plane still got to EWR late!

BTW, the empty flights are a little creepy. I remember reading a few years ago about people that have premonitions of accidents on their scheduled flights and choose to cancel. Always creeps me out when I get on a half full plane.

In 2000, I flew PER-HKT on Thai Airways. I think it was an Airbus. There must have been only 4 or 5 people on board.

It was so empty I played cards with the flight attendant.

3 years ago I flew from Paderborn (Germany) to Altenrhein (Switzerland) with a new airline. I was the only passenger. 3 weeks later the airline went out of business. We could start 45 minutes eralier than scheduled because I was at the gate early.
