YUP/Instant Upgrade Fare tool gone?

I have been using your YUP comparison tool for some time.

http://www.farecompare.com/search/yupfares.html?departure=<xxx>

Today I find it is no longer working.

I hope this is a temporary problem?

Looks like they did a site revamp this weekend.

My alerts page isn't working. Hopefully they'll get that going as well.

Just clicked the Flyertalk tool on my bookmarks bar, and it led me to the new site. Clicked "FlyerTalk tool" to reveal a popup saying "Coming soon"

????

Hope there really is a new version coming soon... or at least that the old one isn't going away. Too good of a tool to lose...

Over the years, Farecompare has evolved from a site with promise to a site that just sends ads to you instead of the airfare alerts signed up for. The flyertalk page was the last bit of useful info on the site...and it looks to be gone.

Wirelessly posted (beckoa's PWP wondrousdevice3.0: Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9810; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.11+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/7.0.0.261 Mobile Safari/534.11+)

Hope it does come soon :( that the old CPM page is down (was rather useful at times- including up to this week)

If the FareCompare site, as we know it is gone, is there any other sites that will give us world wide fares without entering dates? Also, is the flexable feature on Travelocity also gone?

Ditto. Can't belive this very useful tool is gone (FareCompare). I use to go to this page everyday to check for deals! I'm bummed.

Airfarewatchdog does something similar to the Flyertalk took on farecompare.

-1. Same here.

May be it's just down for a while. It's a very good tool to know what could be the lowest fares in a particular market. You can also use kayak.com/buzz or/explore, but they only give fares based on what other people found.

Is there more money for Farecompare's management in serving the needs of companies over individuals? Airline clients and/or other advertising clients can be more of a revenue stream than researching individuals that will pick up the info and shop around elsewhere with that information in mind.

Isn't this the company whose management went on record in support of the TSA? Either way, industry/firm apologist and TSA apologist aren't always that far apart when it comes to matters of air travel.

I'm disappointed to see it go even if it is just for a holiday.

Oh no, I hope nothing bad's going to happen to this amazingly useful tool...!

belfordrocks Dec 12, 2011 3:13 am

It says "coming soon", so I guess we can hold out a little bit of hope...

jeff30189 Dec 12, 2011 8:08 am

Timing?

Doing a revamp of the website and taking it offline in the middle of December when many regular users rely on this tool to research MR opportunities is like the DOT deciding to do road construction in front of Disneyworld in June.

Maybe it could have been done in our "off season", like January?

Hope its up soon!
