Any advise on how to enter a diverted flight? I was on a DL flight to ATL last night that got diverted to BHM due to weather/lack of fuel. We weren't let out of the airplane. Nor did we officially pull into a gate. We sort of just sat in the corner for 2 hours waiting. Does this count as a visit to BHM? I don't suppose DL is going to give me any extra miles, but we did watch the safety video twice. :D
Seriously though, any thoughts? The normally 1:29 flight took nearly 6 hours of my life so I would really like to document something. Thanks. |

It was like some "direct" flights that I've been on that I did not bother getting off the plane and counted those, so I figured this would count as well. |

Can any decode three AA tail numbers.
I know that American often reports internal fleet numbers to the BTS. I have decoded many of the MD-80's but I can't figure these out. I think some might have been Boeing 727's. But I'm not sure. N818AA N2BUAA N2BSAA Any help would be appreciated. Using this tool, the first one comes back to a Dassault Falcon - not an AA plane. The last two are not valid N-numbers. You can see the criteria here, but in short, as you can have a maximum of two alpha characters at the end of the N-number, the last two clearly are invalid. Did these come from the side of actual AA planes? If so, my guess is there's a transcription error somewhere. Also, I assume you know that AA doesn't fly any 727's anymore. |

I had a diversion to ABQ a couple of months ago on an ATL-LAS flight that I entered as ATL-ABQ and ABQ-LAS. We did officially pull into a gate (hooked up the jetway, etc.) which was how the paramedics entered the plane to get the sick F/A off the plane, but we were not allowed off the plane.

Flightmemory for mobile!
Currently available for Premium members only. It works on my BB Curve and Pearl http://mobile.flightmemory.com The only problem I see so far is that you can only be logged in with one device at a time. (Unlike FT, where you can be logged in mobile and desktop) Thanks, guys! |

PS: When I just previewed the above post, I clicked on "My Flight Memory" and could open it (still the old design), but I can't sign in. Weird! |
Looks like the same to me.

Neither site is working for me. Like the earlier poster, the whole of the rest of the internet is fine - I wouldn't know what a proxy server setting is to have done anything to it to create a problem.

FlightMemory problems since Friday: German DNS servers were under attack
Hi!
Just a quick note to all who were wondering. Since Friday, many smaller sites like our FlightMemory/FlugStatistik were not available as one of the major provider of the German backbones, United Internet / InternetX, was under attack: They claim 40.000 hosts were hit by a DDoS with a bandwith of 20 Gbit/s... Since Monday morning, CET, the problems seem to be taken care of. For more information on the background: For those who speak German: http://www.heise.de/newsticker/DDoS-...meldung/119274 DDoS: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDoS#Distributed_attack |
New design of FlugStatistik login-page

We are of course interested in achieving similar for the US/English users, but we think, this will take until Spring 2009...if anyone of you has contacts...you are always welcomed to share :) So no new design - just a slight reordering of the German login page. Have fun! |

Only the login-page of FlugStatistik has a slight redesign as we can now offer German aviation news for our German speaking users, as we have made a fortunate contact with one of Germanies top aviation magazines.

I thought I noticed that the route lines are thicker on the German Preview page?
Anyway - bolder lines only appear for the PremiumUsers on frequently flown routes...on both FlugStatistik and FlightMemory. |

Perhaps it's just my ineptness, but has anyone else been able to pull up stats for the now defunct Aloha Airlines from the BTS site? I'm looking for data from June 2005.
|
Weird...
Just for fun, I accessed www.flugstatistik.com and entered my account and password. I got someone else's information (The same person) three straight times. Hmmm.... |

So it either was a bug or maybe you confused the German yesterday-map with a users stats? I am not sure...let me know, if it occurs again. Normally each user can login on both sites... |
Here's a question for the populace:
This past weekend, I was booked on a Delta Connection (opb Mesaba) CRJ-900 from MSP to SLC. Boarding pass had a DL flight number, checked in at the DL counter, flight was handled by DL staff, etc. (trying to make it clear this was a DL flight). Now, Mesaba is a new DL Connection carrier - they only have 1-2 CRJs painted in DL c/s - the rest are in NW c/s. So I get on the plane, which is painted in NW colors. F/A refers to the flight as a NW Airlink flight. WorldTraveler is in the seatback pocket. Looks like it'll be NW service on board. However, there were some weight and balance issues, and being the FTer that I am, opted to give up 500 EQMs and 1000 RDMs for a confirmed F seat via CVG and a $400 voucher (I figure $400 can get me a lot more than 500 EQMs/1000 RDMs). However, would you record this as a DL flight or a NW flight in your FlightMemory? It's possible another situation like this might occur this weekend, since I'm probably going to take another DL Connection/Mesaba flight from SLC to MSP this weekend. |

Did the flight also carry a NW flight number? If so, I would probably record it as a NW flight, but I think it's down to personal preference. |

I wouldn't record it at all if I didn't take the flight.
I guess I'll wait to see what the inflight service is. If it's Pepsi products and meals in F, then I'll call it NW. If it's Coke and snack basket, then I'll call it DL. |
